Router Configuration

& XML Files

When connecting to a NetOP host the default port number is 6502 UDP.  Therefore when connecting
to a NetOP host through a Router it is important that you configure port forwarding correctly.

Example:

Master Till LAN IP        = 192.168.0.1
Router LAN IP             = 192.168.0.100 (Needs to be on same ip range as tills)
Router/Modem Net IP  = 81.81.81.81

Within the router configuration the port forwarding for port 6502 UDP would need to be forwarded to
192.168.0.1 (IP address of master till)

Multi-Till Configuration

All installations of NetOP Host default to listen on port 6502.  If you have more than one X300 on the
network and you would like to connect to them with NetOP, you will have to install NetOP on those
terminals too, but also change the default port number they listen on.

Once the port numbers are changed on the client terminals you will be able to connect directly to
them through the router.

There two things that need to be done.  The first is to drop in a pre-configured XML file into the
installation folder of NetOP.

When you downloaded the NetOP installation for the X300 you would have noticed there is a folder

Each folder contains a NetOPHost.XML file.  The folder name represents the port number the file will
listen on.  The access password will also default to “admin” with these files.

To change the port number on which NetOP listens on, you will need to copy and paste the
NetOpHost.XML file into the NetOp installation folder within Hard Disk2 on the slave machine.

Once you have copied the file into \Hard Disk2\NetOP Host you will have to restart the X300 for the

NetOP Guest

To Connect to NetOP Host from NetOP Guest simply enter the IP address and port number, as shown
in the below screenshot and click Connect.

You will notice that there is a ‘:’ seperating the IP address and the port number.

If you would like to connect to another X300 then you would change the port number 6502 to the
port number of the X300.  This would be 6503 upto 6508 depending on which XML file you installed
in the X300.
