•  Record Incoming – displays whether the terminal's fax transaction recording 
function is enabled or disabled (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled). If disabled, no 
information will be written to the terminal's Communication Log. To change 
this setting, press the <ENTER> key, type the desired number, and press 
<ENTER> again to save the setting. 
•  Dual Line – this menu option is not applicable for the PageCounter Terminal. 
•  Phone Syntax – displays the number of digits acceptable for a telephone 
number or speed code used with the fax machine. For example, if the terminal 
displays 7-16N/2N it will accept a range of 7 to 16 digits for a telephone 
number and 2 digits for a speed code. 
•  Broadcast Timeout in – displays the amount of time in minutes the terminal 
will remain in Broadcast Mode. To change this value, press the <ENTER
key, type the desired number of minutes before the Broadcast Mode times out, 
and press <ENTER> again to save the setting. 
•  V34(1) or NonV34(0) – displays the type of fax machine connected to the 
terminal. To change this setting, press the <ENTER> key, type the number 
corresponding to the type of fax machine used, and press <ENTER> again to 
save the setting. 
•  International Syntax – displays the number of digits acceptable for an 
international telephone number used with the fax machine. Required numbers 
are preceded by a quotation mark. For example, if the terminal displays the 
message "0"1"17-16N it automatically includes 0 1 1 and after that, it will 
accept a range of 7 to 16 digits for an international telephone number. 
•  Long Syntax – displays the number of digits acceptable for a long distance 
telephone number used with the fax machine. Required numbers are preceded 
by a quotation mark. For example, if the terminal displays "210N it 
automatically includes 2 and after that, it will accept a 10 digit number for a 
long distance telephone number. 
•  Local Long Syntax – displays the number of digits acceptable for a local long 
distance telephone number used with the fax machine. Required numbers are 
preceded by a quotation mark. For example, if the terminal displays "17N it 
automatically includes the number 1 and after that, it will accept a 7 digit 
number for a local long distance telephone number. 
•  Local Syntax – displays the number of digits acceptable for a local telephone 
number used with the fax machine. For example, if the terminal displays 10N 
it will accept a 10 digit number for a local telephone number. 
•  DS International – displays the international dial string. 
•  DS Long – displays the long distance dial string. 
•  DS Local Long – displays the local long distance dial string.

•  DS Local – displays the local dial string. 
•  Tone Busy – displays the coefficient value necessary for the terminal to 
recognize a busy tone from the fax machine. Do not change this value
•  Tone Ring – displays the coefficient value necessary for the terminal to 
recognize a ring tone from the fax machine. Do not change this value
•  Tone Dialtone – displays the coefficient value necessary for the terminal to 
recognize a dial tone from the fax machine. Do not change this value
•  Phone Field – displays the number from the data table that is designated as 
the phone field for the terminal. 
•  Hook On/Off Time Ms – displays the length of time it takes for the terminal 
to validate that the fax machine is off hook. 
Communication Test 
Selecting this option will indicate whether the terminal is communicating with the 
intended fax machine. When this option is selected, activate the fax machine by 
getting a dial tone. If there is communication between the fax machine and the 
terminal, the terminal will display an Out and In stream of information while 
recording the DTMF streams from the fax machine to the communications log. If the 
display on the terminal remains blank, the communication between the fax machine 
and the terminal is broken. 
Fax Autodetect 
Selecting this option will determine what type of fax machine the terminal is 
communicating with in order to track the faxes properly. 
Once this option is selected, the terminal will display the following message: 
Make sure Bypass key 
is OFF & enter 123# 
on the Fax to begin. 
Press 
 to exit 
The terminal will read the fax signal and determine what type of fax machine is 
sending the signal. The terminal will display whether the fax machine is a V.34 
machine or a Non V.34 machine. 
View Comm Log 
Selecting this option will display a log of the DTMF streams the terminal has 
recorded from fax machine communications.

Mode 1 Manager Mode Options  
When the PageCounter terminal is configured for Mode 1 communication, additional 
Manager Mode options are available. Use the arrow keys to the right of the display to 
navigate through the menu options. 
•  5:Database 
•  6:Meters 
•  7:User Settings 
•  8:Security 
To select any of these options, press the number key on the keypad that corresponds 
with the desired option from the display (for example: press the <5> key to select 
Database). 
Database (5:Database) 
This option allows you to add, modify, or delete tables from the terminal. 
Once you've selected Database, the terminal will display the following 17 items: 
•  0:Table0 
•  1:Table1 
•  2:Table2 
•  3:Table3 
•  4:Table4 
•  5:Table5 
•  6:Table6 
•  7:Table7 
•  8:Table8 
•  9:Table9 
•  A:Table10 
•  B:Table11 
•  C:Table12 
•  D:Table13 
•  E:Table14 
•  F:Table15 
•  G:NONBILLABLE 
•  H:PHSPCODE

To select any of these options, press the number or letter key on the keypad that 
corresponds with the desired option from the display. 
Tables 0-9 
This option allows you to add or delete records from a specific table. When you 
select any of the tables (0-9) the terminal will display the table number selected at the 
top of the screen along with the following two options: 
•  1:Add Record 
•  2:Delete Record 
Add Record 
To add a record to a table, select Add Record by pressing the number <1> Function 
key on the keypad. At the Enter CODE prompt, enter the new code. 
Delete Record 
To delete a record from a table, select Delete Record by pressing the number <2
Function key on the keypad. At the Enter CODE prompt, select the code to be 
deleted and press <ENTER> to delete it. 
Tables 10-15 
This option allows you to add or delete records from a specific table. When you 
select any of the tables (A-F) the terminal will display the table number selected at 
the top of the screen along with the following two options: 
•  1:Add Record 
•  2:Delete Record 
Add Record 
To add a record to a table, select Add Record by pressing the number <1> Function 
key on the keypad. At the Enter CODE prompt, enter the new code. 
Delete Record 
To delete a record from a table, select Delete Record by pressing the number <2
Function key on the keypad. At the Enter CODE prompt, select the code to be 
deleted and press <ENTER> to delete it. 
NONBILLABLE 
This function allows you to enter or delete Nonbillable Codes. 
When NONBILLABLE is selected, the terminal will display NONBILLABLE at the 
top of the screen along with the following two options:
