1. Model Name: 
MX6240N – MX7040N, MX6500N – MX7500N 
 
2. Symptom:  
While printing on heavy paper or gloss paper etc (i.e. while fusing speed is set to LOW 1  
 
 
 
or LOW 2), the paper may deflect between Fuser unit and Transfer unit depends on the  
 
 
 
thickness of paper and characteristic of the paper. As a result, part of the image is  
 
 
 
abraded to the Fuser front PG and defect images (void area) may appear between middle  
 
 
 
and trail edge of the paper. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
3. Countermeasure: 
Execute the following once void area has been observed: 
 
 
 
1. Sim 48-6 (Rotation speed adjustment for each motor) 
 
 
 
2. Change the value of LOW1 and LOW2 in item E, Fuser Motor Speed (FSM) from  
 
 
 
  default (45) to 42. If it is still insufficient, continue to decrease the value between 42  
 
 
 
  and 38 by one and re-check the condition by printing out a solid black image. 
 
 
 
3. Set the value to the image that does not produce the void area.
