Installation
1. Venta

can be installed in two ways
a. By USB Memory Stick (recommended). It is recommended that a
USB 2 memory stick be used. Although USB 1.0 devices can be
used they make take up to 6 minutes to be recognised by the
UPX200 operating System
b. Network from a remote PC (The install process will be the same as
below with the exception that the install file would be copied from a
remote PC not the USB device. To map a remote PC from the
UPX200, open Windows Explorer and in the address box at the top
of the window enter the following

\\{remote computer name}\{share name}
For example if the file is on a PC called NODE001 and the share
name on this PC for the root folder is C the following would access
name on this PC for the root folder is C the following would access
the file

Method a
2. Copy the Venta

Installation program onto a USB Memory Stick and insert
the USB Memory stick into the USB slot on the right hand side of the
UPX200. The file is a .CAB file. DO NOT open the file on a PC it can be
run directly on the UPX200 to install Venta

3. Open “My Computer” on the UPX200 and select “Hard Disk” then navigate
to the install file or if using a remote PC follow the mapping information in
1b

4. Select the file by single click and then select “edit – copy” then using the
back key paste the file into the root of the UPX200. This is recommended
rather than running the installation from the memory stick as Windows CE
deletes install files when they have been installed.
5. Once the file is copied to the root folder of the UPX200 it can then be run
by double clicking the ICON
6. The program will then start to install and the following screen displayed
When prompted for the install folder select OK

7. The program will then continue to install
8. When the program installation is completed an ICON appears in the My
Computer Window. This is the start-up icon for Venta
+
(LAUNCH.EXE).

Configuration
1. After completion of the installation the Venta
+
application can be run by
double clicking the Icon in the “My Computer” screen. The application will
then begin to load
2. After loading the start-up screen will be displayed, this offers the following
options
a. Trading – This is for normal operation
b. Configuration – This is to set-up the HHT application
c. Update – This is to load the latest program data from the POS
system
