OVERVIEW
For obvious reasons, you cannot assign a key to every product you want to sell at the terminal, or every function
you want to implement. Lists provide a method of grouping the products or functions for display on the
terminal. The server can press a list key to display the products or functions, and then select the item required.

You can add or change a list on the system. For new lists, select the list type, enter the list parameters, and then
specify the items you want to place on the list. Existing lists may be reviewed and changed when necessary.

There are two ways in which you can disable a list; either replace the details with a new list, or remove the list
from the keyboard file.

SPECIFYING THE LIST NUMBER
After entry into the List File maintenance the following screen is displayed :-
List No:
Enter the number of the list you want to maintain, 01-99. Existing list numbers will display the current
details for you to review. For new list numbers, you can add the list information to the file.

MAINTAINING A LIST
After entering the necessary List & Screen information the following screen displays :-

item(s) from this list. For example, you may wish to link the ice cream list to the toppings

Take care when setting up linked lists not to link a list into a "chain" which leads back to
itself! Particular care must be taken with the Condiment, Qualifier and Extras lists defined

Press the SPACEBAR to select YES and ensure that this list remains on the display until
the server chooses to close it on the terminal, or select NO. Press ENTER to confirm the
selection and move onto the next field.

When you are satisfied the details are correct, press END to save the list to the file, or press F3 to specify the
items you want to display on the list.

ADDING / CHANGING ITEMS TO A LIST
PLU lists may contain up to 2 pages of items , the number of keys is calculated as 2 x the number of keys on
one page, one page is set in Global List programming format.

However because it would be necessary to have an arrow key on both these pages to switch between pages,
this would leave 16 possible key locations. If an Exit key was required this would reduce it by another position.

Linking the lists is a way of making sure that the server selects all the elements which make up the order for
the kitchen, for example, ice cream and toppings. You can also set up lists for items which require special
attention, for example, "Qualifier Lists" (cooking instructions) or "Extras" (optional side orders).

selected separately later, for example, dessert. The item itself must have a condiment list number set in order
to display the first list from which components are selected, for example, starters. This list can then link to

be type "dummy" items on the product file and must have a condiment list number set to the list of available

Value:
Enter the numeric number of the item set in Type.

Text:
There are 3 fields that can be set. The text will appear at the top, middle or bottom of the relevant Key.
If no text is input, the PLU text will be inserted, although it may not format correctly.
