Choose option 2 - Screen File 

Up to ninety nine keyboards may be specified on the system to allow for different sales requirements for
different terminal locations on the site, for example, bar, restaurant or checkout.  Having specified the keyboard
number, the model of Sharp Terminal  (UP5700) is then selected. Using the keyboard key "Change Screen"
the Screen definition can be changed during trading. A default screen number must also be set in Till Parameters.

The keys can be allocated onto the screens using this function.  A maximum of 99 preset PLUs, 90 terminal
functions, 16 payment types, 99 list keys, 10 preset server keys, 99 macro keys, and the system control keys
can be allocated to the keyboard on the terminal.

A report showing the keys allocated for each keyboard and terminal may be printed if requested.

The way in which the keys are allocated to the keyboard is the same for both the A880 and UP5700 terminals.

The keys on the UP5700 terminal are not allocated to a specific number on the keyboard itself, but each key
position has a reserved amount of space on the touch screen.  The block of keys reserved for items is displayed
in the upper left area of the touch screen, and the block of keys reserved for functions is displayed in the lower
central area of the touch screen.  Please note that both areas may include left and right arrows for scrolling.
The keys are assigned to terminal functions as follows:-

Function Keys (logged off)

Function keys before selection of a transaction (no arrows). 

Function Keys (trading)

Trading function keys (12 at a time, 5 sets).

Function Keys (payment)

Payment methods.

Top level trading keys

Trading keys (30 displayed at a time). 

Fixed Areas

Fixed Panels used in the application.

Use the numeric keys to specify the screen definition required.

Key in the number of the keyboard you want to maintain.

Press ENTER to confirm the entries made for specifying the keyboard.  The next step is to allocate the keys. 

•

Use the up and down arrow keys, to specify which key sets you wish to change.

•

Press Enter to edit the specified screen structure.

Keys that are initially displayed after logging on from the Manager Menu (Total
12 Keys

Keys that are displayed after a clerk has logged on. 12 keys are displayed at one
time but a total of 60 keys can be used. the Arrow left and right keys have to be
added to allow movement to the next page of twelve keys.

Keys that are displayed for use after the sub-total key has been pressed from the
Function keys - trading screen

These keys are displayed on the Right side of the screen after clerk log-on. They
are the initial trading keys, and can take the form of Functions, Modifiers, PLU
Presets, Srvr presets, Payment Keys, Lists, Macro’s, PLU’s or Control keys.
Control keys are keys used to direct from screen to screen. i.e Left/Right arrow,
Enter and Exit.  See "Changing Individual Keys"

These areas are panels that are used within the application that are not used for
normal operation, i.e OK boxes, Yes/No boxes etc. For more details see Fixed
area programming later in this chapter.

After selecting the screen for which keys are to be allocated a screen similar to the one shown below will appear
except for Fixed Areas:-

From this screen the following keys can be used :-

This allows the changing of the page default values.

This allows entry into key position edit

Allows the movement of the highlight bar to select the item that needs editing.

Accepts the changed values and exits.

Exits the selection without saving.

Keys used when editing Top level Trading Keys. As the key matrix is 6 x 5 (30
keys) and there are 5 pages available this makes 150 possible key locations. When
entering the editing screen 10 keys are displayed for the first page. Use PGup or
PGdn to switch to the other 20 keys for each page.

When entering this mode two items can be changed, the default colour of the keys and also the size of the text
displayed on the key.

Select the cols field to select the page default colour when entering this field a colour selection
box will appear. To select the colours required enter the foreground colour number first followed
by a "/" and then the background (Text Colour).

This field can be set as 1 or 2. 1 is normal size text and 2 is large text.

After making a selection use End to Exit and Save.

After pressing C at the item you want to add or edit the following screen appears:-

This screen allows the editing of Individual keys the fields that are available are :-

Changes the type of key that is required listed below are those available. Press the SPACEBAR
to display the relevant key type.  Press ENTER to confirm the selection and move onto the next
field.  Available key types are as follows:-

 Control key for List Page Left, List Page Right, Function Page Left, Function Page Right, Enter
& Exit.

When setting a Control Key be sure to select the correct page left/right. Function Left/Right
will shift the page on the Function Keys - Trading as set in Screen Files’s

Terminal functions, as set in Function Control. 

Preset PLU keys, as set in Preset PLUs. 

Preset server keys.  Servers are assigned to a key using a terminal function (the server numbers
may change from one session to another). 

Payment type keys, as set in Payment Types.

List keys, as set in List File.

Macro keys, as set in Keyboard Macros. 

Unused keys.

Keys that modify items i.e Half

Direct Item

Where you do not know the control key numbers or the function key numbers, you can press F2 when
in the Value field to display a list of available key numbers.  Use the page up and down keys to locate
the key number required.  Move the highlight to the key number using the up and down arrow keys
and press ENTER to select the key.

Enter the value of the relevant Function, Modifiers, PLU Preset, Srvr preset, Payment Key, List,
Macro, PLU or Control key.

A description for the key type is displayed.
