In the event you receive a CDR2 with the complaint “The recording is noisy,” or “dropout on recorded CD”. Perform the following
modification

Every time you have a CDR2 in for repair, please check the soldering in the power supply.

Upgrade the unit with new software if necessary.

Additionally in case of a complaint concerning noisy recording, the flat cable connecting the player and
record section needs to be earthed. This action improves the grounding of the cable. (Picture 2 &3 )

A simple method is shown in pictures 2 & 3. Solder a paper clip, to the metal case of the record
section of the CDR2 player. This system has the advantage of securing a ground connection, while
allowing removal and replacement of the cable, and access to the other components.

Test the modification by recording a CD after re-assembling the unit.
