Subject: Software update for record and player section.
In case you receive a CDR-2, please check the software version in order to determine the need for
software update.
In order to update a CDR-2 you need the upgrade kit and the software. This can be ordered under the
partnumber : JIGCDR2.
The kit consists of a cable, connector/board and a software disc.Technical documentation of how to use
it, is included on the disc as a file called CDR2readme.doc.
The documentation also includes how to modify the remote control to be able to read-out the version of
the installed software.
NOTICE :
PLAYER SECTION :
There is only one softwareversion for the player section folder called CDR PLAYER.
RECORD SECTION :
For the record section, there are 2 versions. One version covers the serialnumbers from LG0002-12851
to LG0002-15375. This folder is named CDR rec 12851-15375.
Serial numbers outside this range are updated with the version, folder called CDR rec except 12851-
15375.
General how to use the jig :
Connect the jig/cable to the serial port of your PC. Then connect the JIG-PCB in the other end of the
cable. Then connect the 6-pin connector in the bottom (from beneith) of the CDR2, to the player or the
record section depending on which section to update. Switch on the unit (CDR-2) and note the serial
number of the unit. Depending on which section to be updated, please use the correct folder (files), as
described above. Enter the folder and double click on the SIO_DOS.EXE file. Now run the program
displayed on your monitor.
Downloading take 3-5 minutes to complete.
The completion of the downloading of the software is prompted on the monitor as “OK”.
