About this Guide
This manual describes how to set up and perform the scan functions of the SHARP AR-P15 Network
Printer Board
TM
which are available with the PS3 Scan & HDD Upgrade (AR-PK3+AR-SB1) installed.
It covers the following topics:
• Installing the user software for scan and e-mail functions
• Setting up the scan and e-mail service options on the AR-P15
• Scanning on the copier
• Printing using the e-mail service
The term “AR-P15” is used in this manual to refer to the SHARP AR-P15 Network Printer Board with
the PS3 Scan & HDD Upgrade.

In the AR-P15 User Documentation CD-ROM:
User’s Guide - explains how to install software to enable users to print to the AR-P15. Specifically, it
describes installation of printer drivers, printer description files, and other user software provided on the
User Software CD-ROM. It is also explains the printing features of the AR-P15 for users.
Administrator’s Guide - explains basic configuration and administration of the AR-P15 for the
supported platforms and network environments. It is also includes guidelines for setting up Windows
NT/2000 and Novell NetWare servers to provide printing services to clients.

Fiery Utlities Guide - explains how to use optional software for the AR-P15 which are available with

The instructions in this manual are explained on the assumption that it is equipped with the PS3
Scan & HDD Upgrade (AR-PK3+AR-SB1).

About the Scan and E-mail Service Features
When the HDD option is installed on the AR-P15, users can use the following AR-P15 Scan and E-mail
Service features:
Scan to E-mail
Scan to E-mail function allows you to send scan images to the e-mail addresses. You can operate
Scan to E-mail from the Touch Panel Display, as well as your computer using the Fiery Remote Scan
utility.
Scan to Mailbox
Scan to Mailbox function allows you to save scan images to the mailbox in the AR-P15 hard disk. Scan
images which are saved in the mailbox can be retrieved to a client workstation using the Fiery Remote
Scan utility or Fiery WebScan WebTool.
Scan to Hold Queue
Scan to Hold Queue function allows you to send scan images to the Hold queue on the AR-P15. Scan
images which are sent to the Hold queue can be printed anytime using the Command WorkStation or
Fiery WebSpooler WebTools same as a print job in the Hold queue.
Scan to Stored Job
Scan to Stored Job function allows you to send scan images as a Stored Job on the AR-P15. Scan
images which are sent as a stored job can be printed anytime using the Touch Panel Display or
WebPage same as a stored job that is printed from your computer.
Scan to Print
Scan to Print function allows you to scan the output on the copier and immediately print it.
Scan to Ftp
Scan to Ftp function allows you to send scan images to the Ftp server. This function can be used with
the Scan to E-mail function. The scan images which are sent as Scan to E-mail can be sent to the Ftp
server at the same time, when you set up the Scan to Ftp service. This can be also operated using the
Fiery Remote Scan.
E-mail Printing
When you enable the e-mail printing service, users can print via e-mail using the EFI Fiery Mail Port
utility or from an e-mail client software. The EFI Fiery Mail Port utility enables you to configure the e-
mail port as the printer port on the AR-P15 printer drivers. Using a e-mail client software, you send a
file as an e-mail attachment, and E-mail Service extracts the file and sends it to the AR-P15.

Private Scan
Private Scan feature allows users to operate the scan function using a scan template which memorizes
the personal scan settings. These scan templates can be created and managed for each user and
users must select a user name and enter a password to access the templates. Users can use the
desired template and quickly scan the job.
Scan Template Setup
Users can memorize the current scan settings as a scan template. The scan template can be used at
the next scan to quickly set the same scan settings for the scan job. Scan templates can be
memorized for each scan user group, which can be used by users who know the password. Also scan
templates can be memorized for common users, which can be used by all users.
User Addressbook Setup
Administrator can configure the user addressbook which is a genetic addressbook used primarily for
Scan to E-mail.
Print Addressbook Setup
Administrator can configure the print addressbook which includes users who have print access. Only
users whose e-mail addresses are in the print addressbook are authorized to submit jobs via e-mail to
the AR-P15.
