As a new PLU type, the “PLU Free Text” type has been introduced.
This new PLU type allows entering a free item text via a QWERTY touch keyboard. The entry
overwrites the existing PLU text with the freely entered one, but only for the next registration.
The new text is used for Receipt/KP and Bill printing. In case of GLU registration, the new text is
stored into GLU file as well. This feature can also be used together with enabled floating clerk
system. It also will be stored into T-LOG. At PLU reporting, the original preset text is used for
the report.

In PLU programming, the new parameter “FREE TEXT
INPUT” is added. If this property is set to “YES”, during
registration of this PLU a new free text can either be
entered or picked up from a list of previous entered text.

This setting is valid together with other properties, like
f.e. another “ENTRY TYPE”, negative price or even in
combination with the new “SIDE TYPE”

By registration of such a PLU, the Free Text list will pop up, showing all previous entered Free
Texts. If no free text has been entered before, the list is empty. Touching on the “NEW”, the
QWERTY touch keyboard is open and a new text can be inputted. This text can have up to 20
characters. By pressing “OK”, this text will be taken over for the next registration. Pressing on
“CANCEL” will bring you back to the Free Text list view. Pressing again on “CANCEL” will return
to the registration screen.

Furthermore, this feature has a kind of learning
function. Each new free text which has been entered
will be stored into the Free Text list. Additionally, the
list is sorted in ascending alphabetical order. This
makes it convenient for further registrations if the
same Free Text is needed.

The maximum entries are limited to 255 Free Texts.
By entering more Free Text, the oldest Free Text
will be automatically deleted out of the list.

In case of more than 255 new texts are created on the same day, each new text entry will
overwrite the very first entry from the list every time.

Because the text is stored into a centralized file, all texts are available at every machine in an
Inline-System.

By pressing on “RECORD DELETE” the selected Free Text entry is deleted manually.

Once a text has been entered, it is not possible to edit it.

At the former ROM Version, if a Condiment entry sequence was started in a PLU Menu screen,
it return to the HOME screen after the Condiment entry sequence has been finished, but not to
the PLU Menu screen. With the new introduced parameter at
“\PGM2 MODE\2 SETTING\10 OPTIONAL\6 DISPLAY SELECT\PLU MENU AFT. COND”
it is settable if the screen should return to the HOME screen or to the PLU Menu screen after
the Condiment registration was finished.

In some environments where an Inline System is installed, it is necessary that each ECR
terminal has its own HOME screen in order to show different articles by default, i.e. for the
restaurant machine and for the bar machine. With the parameter
“\PGM2 MODE\2 SETTING\10 OPTIONAL\6 DISPLAY SELECT\HOME SCREEN #”
any screen number from 1 to 31 can be set for the new HOME screen. Now, a new HOME
screen can be freely designed with any desired layout for every individual machine.

In Credit Mode, also the tied PLU’s of a Link PLU, which are assigned as DD articles, will be
sent to the Drink Dispenser as well. Before, only the leading PLU’s were sent to the DD.

A PLU search function has been implemented. The search function must be started by pressing
on the new function key “PLU SEARCH”. At least 2 characters (not case sensitive) have to be
entered, followed by the “OK” button operation. The search result will be shown in a pop up
window. If no articles were found, a related message will be shown in the upper part of the text
entry box. In the search result window, a touch on the desired PLU will take this PLU for
registration. If the article of interest is not displayed, the “EXIT” button operation switches back
to the registration window.

The PLU text must not start with the search text, but if the search takes too long time in case of
many articles, with the new parameter SRV #981D +1, the search algorithm can be changed. If
set, the text search will always start at the beginning of the PLU text.

Possibility to activate VAT turnover calculation with only a percent ratio of a PLU price. This
feature is necessary when i.e. an article has an ingredient which must calculate with another
VAT rate.

Example:
PLU price is 1,-€
PLU TAXABLE1 is set to 80%, TAXABLE2 is set to 20%.
TAX preset for TAX1 is 10%, for TAX2 it is 5%.

Calculation by registration of that PLU:
0,80€ (80% of 1,-€) is calculated with TAX1 10%
0,20€ (20% of 1,-€) is calculated with TAX2 5%

To enable this feature, the new Service Parameter #901A must be set to +4.
The VAT ratio can be set for each PLU at the PLU programming.

Remark:

•  This feature does not exist for department.

•  The % rate for TAX calculation is preset able for each TAX rate (TAX1 ~ TAX6), but only

the first 2 settings will be considered by calculation. For example, if a ratio is set for VAT2
and VAT4 but not for VAT1 and VAT3, the machine will use VAT2 and VAT4 setting for
calculation.

•  There will be no verification, if the total TAX ratio is 100%.

•  This setting is valid for open price PLU as well and is considering every kind of promotion

by doing proportional dividing for each type of discount.

•  VAT symbol is not printed any longer.

•  VAT shift can not be used anymore in combination with this feature.
