Setting of ESC-Sequences for half and full cut.
In order to connect printers which do have other escape sequences for full respectively half cut,
a new possibility of entering flexible escape sequence is available. In SRV\SETTING\DEVICE
CONFIG there is a new menu entry “CUSTOMIZER PRINTER” where the sequences can be
entered. Each entry consists out of max. 8 byte. Only the characters ‘0-9’, ‘a-f’, ‘A-F’ and the ‘,’
are allowed to enter. The proofing for invalid characters will be done by leaving the
programming. Each byte consists out of 2 digits and must be comma separated. The first
number represents the total length of the escape sequence include the length byte. If i.e. the
escape sequence 1D,56,01 should be used for the new sequence the entry has to look like as
the sequence in the below shown picture.
Remark: The entry of this programming menu via PGM at a Satellite is prohibited. This setting
will also not be distributed by service parameter download in inline system.

Because the scroll speed for the pole display was too slow, the speed becomes settable. In
PGM2 MODE\SETTING\MESSAGE\MESSAGE OPTIONS\ three new parameters are available
now. It is possible to set the speed for the UP-3500 LCD screen saver and for the optional
customer pole display. Furthermore the interval for the customer pole display is settable as well.
Valid values are: LCD DISP. SPEED

The GLU number of a previous transaction will remain in the display. This is somehow

In case of CCD per terminal it is common practise to get the report via auto keys. Because
some entry has to be done in the CCD mask, it is not possible to leave the X/Z menu

In order to get a better overview/selectivity in the “OPEN GLU” and “OPEN ROOM” overview
list, the name of the customer should be mentioned. When a customer out of the

TAX assignment for Combo Meal.
In case of the Combo Meal function, the assigned TAX rate of the leading PLU will be taken for
the calculation for the TAX totalizers. Especially in environments were articles are sold InHouse
and OutHouse or were the tied PLU’s have different TAX rates, the Combo Meal function does
not fit. As a countermeasure, it is possible to set the way of TAX calculation at the Combo Meal
programming. For each Combo Meal it can be distinguished if the TAX rate of the leading PLU
or of each tied PLU should be used for the TAX calculation.

Item update by Subtotal- and Group-Discount.
Subtotal Discounts (ST(%) and ST(-)) and Group Discounts (GrpDisc(%)) may cause problems
for a Back Office software, because of their different calculation behaviour compared to f.e. UP-
600BG.
In order to keep the compatibility to the previous version, a new service parameter is available.

Ticket/Voucher in Void mode.
A function to issue a ticket/voucher instead of giving a Change Amount is selectable for each
CASH and CHECK payment media. In VOID mode, a receipt with ticket function is treated as
returning the ticket as Cash payment. This has been changed in that way, that the ticket is
voided and the ticket totalizers has been reversed accordingly. A void receipt as well as a void
ticket will be printed also.

To make it easier to distinguish between the PLU number and the description of the PLU, an
additional space has been added at the end of the PLU number. Especially where the PLU text
starts with a number, it was very difficult to read the PLU number.

If the size for the E/J file was too small for even one entry, the system shows strange behaviour.
