Fidelio Emulator (PC Software)
As the cost and operating methods of Fidelio are so complex it is not possible to supply
“Demo” software. In view of this SHARP have developed a Windows Fidelio Emulator
which is available Free of Charge from the SHARP Technical WEB Site.
The Fidelio Emulator Software when downloaded from our WEB site should be installed and
operated as follows.
1.
Download the file from the WEB site and execute it. It will unpack 3 files to the
C:\FIDELIO directory.
2.
From the FIDELIO directory RUN SETUP.EXE. This will install the program into a
directory C:\PROGRAM FILES\MFEMU. To RUN the program select Start -
Programs - MFEmu or if this doesn’t exists because of user profiles run it from
explorer. To do this switch to C:\PROGRAM FILES\MFEMU and run MFEmu.EXE.
3.
Connect the your PC to the POS as directed previously as if it were a live installation
and after running the Fidelio Emulator press START. The system is now set for use.
The following Rooms can be used for test.

58. Price Embedded Barcodes
In order to realise greater functionality in the retail market, handling of price embedded
barcodes has been introduced
Programming
To realise this function the monitoring of an added file is done. The new file EAN.TXT is
located in the \USR\DATA folder and should be created prior to the use of Price Embedded
Barcodes. The file is formatted as follows :-
NNPPPPXCCCCCX for 13 digit barcodes and is flexible in its structure
NN – Start Code, required to identify a barcode is embedded
PPPP – Adding “P” shows the PLU Number that will associated with this code, this could be
“PPPP” or “PPP” etc
X – If X is inserted in the string then the character in this position within the barcode will be
ignored
CCCC – This field represents the cost price, as with the PLU number this can be variable
length represented by any number of “C”
From this it can be seen that different types of codes could be placed in the file .
NOTE When entering in EAN.TXT Uppercase Characters must be used
Example
2001007004679 – PLU 100 @ £4.67. The code would be set up as 20PPPPXCCCCCX
2018659004988 – PLU18659 @£4.98. The code would be set up as 20PPPPPCCCCCX
26510255 – PLU 651 @ £0.25. The code would be set up as 2PPPCCCX
N.B The associated PLU MUST be set up as “Non Priced” Item
Operation
In operation the user will not notice any operational differences. When a preset code is
scanned the amount from the code will be sold through the PLU within the code. All other
operations remain unchanged.

59. Extended Server Reports
In order to provide greater management information the server reports produced at Close
Session & End of Day, have been enhanced to provide a full breakdown of promotions by
Server. As this feature uses an increased amount of disk space it is necessary to install a
memory upgrade to your UP57/5300 or use a Hard Disk in each POS.
Programming
To realise this function a new setting can be found in RINCS.CFG :-
REM V46=========SERVER PROMOTION=========
REM REMOVE THE # TO ALLOW THE PRINTING OF IND PROMOTIONS ON THE SERVER
REM REPORT
REM TO USE THIS FEATURE ALL POS MUST BE HARD DISK POS
# SRVRXUSE=1
Operation
After the setting has been made in RINCS.CFG, when a Close Session or End of Day is done
the Server report will be produced with the extended information.
