24 REMOTE CONTROL
Remote Control
The AVR 100RDS includes a powerful remote
control that is preset to operate all AVR
functions and most Harman Kardon products like
cassette decks and CD or DVD player. All
functions controllable by the AVR 100RDS
remote are listed in the table on page 25. Each
button is numbered in the same way as on the
remote picture beside. Note that the functions
for CD, Tape and DVD work only after the
corresponding Device selector button a
was pressed. An arrow ”fi” in the table
means that this button still operates the original
function on the AVR.

Using the Remote with a Harman Kardon
CD-R Recorder/Player
The AVR’s remote is programmed to operate
Harman Kardon CD-R products, and you have a
choice of having those commands work with
either the “Tape” or “CD” Device Selector

Processor Reset
In the rare case where the unit’s operation or
the displays seem abnormal, the cause may
involve the erratic operation of the system’s
memory or microprocessor.

To correct this problem, first unplug the unit
from the AC wall outlet and wait at least three
minutes. After the pause, reconnect the AC
power cord and check the unit’s operation. If
the system still malfunctions, a system reset
may clear the problem.

To clear the AVR 100RDS’s entire system
memory including tuner presets, output level
settings, delay times and speaker configuration
data, first turn the unit off by pressing and
releasing the Main Power Switch 1 so that
it pops out from its normal recessed position.
