SERVO AND RF SYSTEM ADJUSTMENTS
Before perform the servo and RF system adjustments, check that
the specified values of “Origin Oscillation check” of “1-3. CAM-
ERA SYSTEM ADJUSTMENTS” is satisfied.
Check that the data of page: 0, address: 10 is “00”. If not, select
page: 0, address: 10, and set the data “00”.
Adjusting Procedure:
1. RF adjustment preparation
2. CAP FG duty adjustment
3. Switching position adjustment
4. SD error rate check
5. Processing after adjustments

CAP FG Duty Adjustment (VC-543 board)

Set the CAP FG signal duty cycle to 50% to establish an appropri-
ate capstan servo. If deviated, the uneven rotation of capstan and
noise can occur.

RF Adjustment Preparation
Turn on both of the LCD panel and EVF to check the influence
from the flexible cable from EVF to RF signal.
Set the data before “CAP FG duty adjustment”, “Switching posi-
tion adjustment”, “SD error rate check”.

If bit0 of the data is “1”, the EVEN channel is defective.
If bit1 of the data is “1”, the ODD channel is defective.
Contents of the defect is see written into page: C, ad-
dress: 10 and 12. See following table.
If bit3 of the data is “1”, the tape end being played, so
rewind the tape and perform the adjustment again.
(For the bit values, refer to “6-4. SERVICE MODE”,
“4-4. 3. Bit value discrimination”.)
