17. Manager Screens Security Lock

This feature has been added to enable the securing of ALL Manager Screens. These
include all the options within Venta Main Menu Screen including Reports and also
Utilities.

Programming

To set the Authority levels and Password for management functions select the required
option within VPM – Configure – Function Control – Management.

In order to set the Start of Day option within the Venta Main Menu screen so that the
function is only available to users with Authority Level 5 plus password verification then
the setting would be as above.

Operation

When a selection is made for a setting that is set for and authority level higher than the
user who has selected it “No Authority” is displayed.

18. AUTO Logon

This Feature has been introduced to allow the Logging-on screen to be by-passed. This
allows an operator to go from secure to trading only logging on once. This should be
used in conjunction with server stay down in Till Configuration.

Programming

To enable the feature select the “Autologon “ option within Till Configuration – Options
as follows :-

Operation

If the machines are put into “Secure” at an End of Shift the next operator to logon in
secure will if they select “Trading” go straight into the trading screen by-passing the
Logon Screen.

19. Innsite Link

Connectivity is available for the Innsite PMS system, Connectivity is available to Infront
and Omega the two Innsite Packages. In order to connect Venta to Innsite a serial link
needs to be set-up between one of the terminals and the Innsite PC. This connection is
by RS232 using the following cable specification.

Programming

The Innsite link is different than any of the previously integrated PMS systems. The link
between the POS and the Innsite PC is via an RS232 link. The programming of Innsite is
as follows in External Interfaces - Innsite

After these settings have been made the POS system will work with Innsite.. From the
above settings set them as follows :-

Connection Port No:

This setting is the RS232 port that is used on the Innsite POS
to connect it via RS232 to the Innsite PC.

Controlling Till No:

This setting will determine which POS has got the physical
connection to the Innsite PC.
