Peripherals
Retail peripherals are also supported.  The peripherals are pre-defined as a hardware option.
Support for all OPOS-compliant printers, cash drawers and scanners are provided by using the
relevant interfaces:

A cash drawer is opened if a media-based tender is accepted during a transaction.

The MSR may be used to record credit and debit card details.

The scanner may be used to scan stock-based items or shelf-edge labels, or scannable
customer account cards.

A retail printer is supported (or an A4 printer).  Several printers may be attached, but they
share the common characteristics of 40 or 42 column printing on a single station.
