Server File
ACCESS
System Maintenance Menu
Choose option 1 - File Maintenance
File Maintenance Menu
Choose option 8 - Server File
OVERVIEW
All personnel that may wish to use a terminal must be assigned a server number.  Each server
must enter their number before operating the terminal.  This function sets up and maintains the
details required for each server.  Where you want to use separate cash drawers for servers
using the same terminal, you can specify the cash drawer number.
There are up to five authorisation levels which determine the functions that the server may
perform on the terminal.  For example, you may not wish all servers to have the facility to void
a transaction, in which case the authorisation level for the server must be below the level set
for the void facility in Function Control.
Another security feature of the system is the use of passwords.  If a particular terminal function
requires a password, and the server has  the appropriate authorisation level to perform the
function, the password must be entered before the server can continue.
You can add servers to the file, or change or delete existing server details.  Where you want to
change or delete the details of the server, you must first locate and display the server details.
Having entered the server details, you can allocate a key position on the terminal keyboard so
that the server can press the preset server key and log onto the terminal.  Each preset server
is identified in the keyboard file by the  letter W followed by the server number, for example,
W01 would be server number 1.
SERVER FILE OPTIONS
The following options are available to maintain the server file:-
A
To add a new server to the file.  See Adding a Server below.

server number.  The server details are then displayed for you  to continue.
A warning
message will be displayed if you enter a server number which is not currently on the file,
press any key to continue.
N
To display the details of the next server held on the file.
P
