7.6. Self Check Procedure for the
Control Board

Set the Extension Board between the Mother Board and
Control Board.

Turn On the Power Switch of the Matrix Switcher WJ-
SX550.
8
Turn Off the Power Switch of the System Controller WV-
CU550.
8
While pressing the MON and 2 Switches simultaneously,
turn on the Power Switch of WV-CU550.
300 Switch Check (Does not automatically recov-
er to Idle mode)

Enter the Instruction Code 300 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 00 by the SW2 on the Control Board.
8
Press the GO key or press the SW3 on the Control
Board.
8
Set the SW2-1 to On, the Green LED of D1 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 00 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.
8
Set the SW2-1 to Off, the Red LED of D1 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 01 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.
8
Set the SW2-2 to On, the Green LED of D2 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 02 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.
8
Set the SW2-2 to Off, the Red LED of D2 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 03 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.

Set the SW2-3 to On, the Green LED of D3 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 04 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.

Set the SW2-3 to Off, the Red LED of D3 should be Off
and the Data “STX ST 05 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.

Set the SW2-4 to On, the Green LED of D4 should be On
and the Data “STX ST 06 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.

Set the SW2-4 to Off, the Red LED of D4 should be Off
and the Data “STX ST 07 ETX” is transmitted to the RS-
232C line.

Set the Tact Switch to On, the Green LED of D5 should
be On and the Data “STX ST 08 ETX” is transmitted to
the RS-232C line.

Execute the 399 Instruction from the Personal Computer
or the 399 Instruction by 10-key or press the ACK RESET
key of the WV-CU550, or set the F(H) Instruction by the
SW2 and press the SW3 if the Self Check Function is
done by the WJ-SX550 alone for a return to the Idle
mode.

The relationship between the numbers and descriptions
are shown in the Table 3-3-1.

The relationship between the reference number of LEDs
and reference number of switches are as shown in the
Table 7-6-1.

Enter the Instruction Code 301 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 01 by the SW2.

Press the GO key or press the SW3.

Action performed: Calculate the Check Sum of the ROM
IC, and then display that value on the LCD of the WV-
CU550, and transmit the Data “STX XXXX ETX” to the
RS-232C line (RS232C Port Connector of the CPU
Board).
Note: The XXXX is the calculated result of the Data of
the Check Sum Value.
302 RAM Data Check

Enter the Instruction Code 302 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 03 by the SW2.

Press the GO key or press the Tact Switch.

Action performed: Write the Data 00(H) to FF(H) to the
specific address, and then check these Data after reading
them, then display OK or NG on the LED D18 (OK) or
D17 (NG) on the CPU Board, and transmit the Data “STX
302 OK ETX” or “STX 302 NG ETX” to the RS-232C line.

Instruction Code 04 by the SW2.

The LEDs should be On for 500 msec and then sequen-
tially Off from D1 to D18.
305 DPRAM1 (IC1) Data Check

Enter the Instruction Code 305 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 05 by the SW2.

Press the GO key or press the SW3.

Action performed: Write the Data 00(H) to FF(H) to the
specific address, and then check these Data after reading
them, then display OK or NG on the LED D18 (OK) or
D17 (NG) on the CPU Board, and transmit the Data “STX
305 OK ETX” or “STX 305 NG ETX” to the RS-232C line.
306 DPRAM2 Data Check

Enter the Instruction Code 306 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 06 by the SW2.

Press the GO key or press the SW3.

Action performed: Write the Data 00(H) to FF(H) to the
specific address, and then check these Data after reading
them, then display OK or NG on the LED D18 (OK) or
D17 (NG) on the CPU Board, and transmit the Data “STX
306 OK ETX” or “STX 306 NG ETX” to the RS-232C line.
307 RAM Address Check

Enter the Instruction Code 307 by the 10-key or
Instruction Code 07 by the SW2.

Action performed: Check by the Marching Method, then
display OK or NG on the LED D18 (OK) or D17 (NG), and
transmit the Data “STX 307 OK ETX” or “STX 307 NG
ETX” to the RS-232C line.

Notes:
1)  Instruction numbers from 308 to 315 are only operat-
ed by the Personal Computer.
2) Connect the Personal Computer to the RS-232C Port
Connector on the CPU Board.
3) Disconnect the WV-CU550 from the Control Board.

Modular and the TEST2 Modular of the Control Board of
the Matrix Switcher WJ-SX550.

DIP Switch and press the CPU Reset Switch if the Self
Check Function is done by the WJ-SX550 alone for a
return to the Idle mode.
