ZZ.1
Introduction
This Annex sets out variations between this Standard and IEC 60950-1:2001. These variations indicate
national variations for purposes of the IECEE CB Scheme and will be published in the IECEE CB Bulletin.
These variations are indicated within the body of the Standard.
ZZ.2
Variations
The variations are as follows:
1.2
Between the definitions for ‘Person, service’
and ‘Range, rated frequency’ insert the
following:
Potential ignition source     1.2.12.201
Considered.
—
1.2.12.15
After the definition of 1.2.12.15, add the
following:
1.2.12.201 potential ignition source: Possible
fault which can start a fire if the open-circuit
voltage measured across an interruption or
faulty contact exceeds a value of 50 V (peak)
a.c. or d.c. and the product of the peak value of
this voltage and the measured r.m.s current
under normal operating conditions exceeds 15
VA.
Such a faulty contact or interruption in an
electrical connection includes those which may
occur in conductive patterns on printed boards.
NOTE 201 An electronic protection circuit may
be used to prevent such a fault from becoming a
POTENTIAL IGNITION SOURCE.
NOTE 202 This definition is from AS/NZS
60065:2003.
Considered.
—
1.5.1
Add the following to the end of first paragraph:
‘or the relevant Australian/New Zealand
Standard’.
All critical components are IEC, UL
or CSA certified.
1.5.2
Add the following to the end of first and third
dash items:
‘or the relevant Australian/New Zealand
Standard’.
All critic al components are IEC, UL
or CSA certified.
