V-COM Adjustment (PD-199 board)
Set the DC bias of the common electrode drive signal of LCD to
the specified value.
If deviated, the LCD display will be move, producing flicker and
conspicuous vertical lines.

6-2. MECHANISM SECTION ADJUSTMENTS
On the mechanism section adjustment
For detail of mechanism section adjustments, checks, and replace-
ment of mechanism parts, refer to the separate volume “MICRO MV
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 2  W Mechanism  ”.
Note:
Before perform the adjustments, check that the data of page:
0, address: 10 is “00”.
If not, select page: 0, address: 10, and set the data “00”.

ADJUSTMENT REMOTE COMMANDER
Connect the adjustment remote commander (J-6082-053-B) to A/
V jack via the multi cable for service (J-6082-535-A).

OPERATING WITHOUT CASSETTE
1) Connect the adjustment remote commander.
2) Turn  on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote com-
mander.
3) Close the cassette compartment without a cassette and com-
plete loading.
4) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
5) Select page: 9, address: 81, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button.
6) Select page: 9, address: 74, set data: 11, and press the PAUSE
button.
7) Select page: 9, address: C4, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button.
8) Turn off the power supply, then turn on them again.
By the operation mentioned above, the recording and playback
can be performed without a cassette.
Note 1:
Under this condition, never open or close the cassette
compartment.
Note 2:
After the operation check finished, be sure to perform
“Procedure after checking operations”.
Note 3:
When the power is turned on, the following message may
be displayed, but this is normal.
“Cassette memory reading failed. Reinsert the tape.”
Set the following data to page: D, address: 10, if the forced power
supply ON mode is to be used together.
Forced VTR power supply ON mode ....................... 02
Forced CAMERA power supply ON mode ............... 01
[Procedure after checking operations]
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: 9, address: 81, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
3) Select page: 9, address: 74, set data: 10, and press the PAUSE
button.
4) Select page: 9, address: C4, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button.
5) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
6) Turn off the power supply.

TAPE PATH ADJUSTMENT
Referring to “2. DISASSEMBLY”, perform the tape path adjust-
ment with the VTR section set in the service position.
1.
Preparations for Adjustment
1) Clean the tape path face (tape guide, drum, capstan shaft, pinch
roller).
2) Connect the adjustment remote commander.
3) Turn  on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote com-
mander.
4) Connect an oscilloscope to CN107 (no mount) of VC-333
board.
Channel 1: Pin2 of CN107 (Note)
External trigger: Pin6 of CN107
Note:
Connect a 75 
Ω resistor (1-247-804-11) between pin2 and
pinqd (GND).
5) Playback the alignment tape for tracking (XH8-1).
6) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
7) Select page: 9, address: 9C, set data: 82, and press the PAUSE
button.
8) Select page: 3, address: 0A, set data: 40, and press the PAUSE
button.
9) Check that the data of page: 3, address: 0B changes from “40”
to “00”.
10) Rotate the HOLD OFF knob of oscilloscope so that the flat-
test waveform is displayed.
11) Check that the oscilloscope RF waveform is flat at the entrance
and exit. (Fig. 6-2-3)
If not flat, adjust according to the separate volume “MICRO MV
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 2   W Mechanism  ”.
12) Perform “Processing after Completing Operations”, after com-
pleting adjustment.
2. Processing after Completing Operations
1) Connect the adjustment remote commander.
2) Turn  on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote com-
mander.
3) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
4) Select page: 9, address: 9C, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button.
5) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
