Description
Phenomenon When viewing NTSC-signal on VIDEO INPUT 4 or S-VIDEO INPUT 5,
the movement of picture with quick motion scene (for example, sportscast, telop,
etc.) looks slightly strobe motion. (Picture does not move smoothly)
Action
If you received a service call with the above phenomenon, please rewrite firmware
according to the attached procedure. By this procedure, the firmware version
changes as follows.

Software rewrite procedure ( XG-P25X )

Before rewriting firmware
1. Copy the compression file “P25X_write.zip” on the PC.
2. Decompress the “P25X_write.zip”.
Rewriting firmware
1. Turn on the power of the projector.
2. Call up the factory adjustment mode.
( Press the operation keys in order of MUTE, MUTE, VOL UP, VOL DOWN, ENTER,
ENTER and
MENU. )
3. Select the following group and subject.
Group : SPECIAL
Subject : IPL
4. Press the ENTER key when the cursor is on the position of IPL. The lamp goes
out and the firmware
rewrite mode becomes ready.
5. Connect the RS-232C cable between the RS-232C INPUT port on the projector
and the RS-232C port
on the computer.

6. Execute the program file “bhx_write.bat”.
7. During rewriting, the number is counted up on the screen. When the rewrite is
finished, the message
“COM1:Transfer completion” appears.
( If the message “ERR” appear, take the steps from step-1 again. )
Then, unplug the AC power cable of the projector.
( Note )
If the rewrite is interrupted halfway, the projector may not turn on the power. In this
case, open the cabinet of the projector and set the switch on the PC board to the
WRITE side. Then, turn on the power of the projector and take the steps from step-5
again. When the rewrite is finished, turn off the power of the projector and set the
switch on the PC board to the NORMAL side.
In case the projector is XG-P25X U, take the following steps, 8, 9 and 10 more.
(In case the projector is XG-P25X E, it does not need the following steps.)
8. Call up the factory adjustment mode.
9. Select the following group and subject.
Group : SSS
Subject : S4
10. Press the ENTER key when the cursor is on the position of S4. The projector will
be initialised.
11. Turn off the power of the projector.
