Margin Types
There are seven different ways to generate a
product’s unit store price.  To view the list of
different margin types, click on the down arrow
on the right-hand side of the screen.
A description of the margin types is as follows:

0 STORE PRICE
-
The store sets the price themselves.

1 SOURCE
-
The store uses the recommended selling
price (RSP) set by the supplier.

2 MARGIN
-
The store uses a price X% higher than the
unit cost price.

3 MARGIN ON RECOMMENDED
-
The store uses a price X% higher than the
recommended price.

4 ADD TO RECOMMENDED
-
The store uses a price £X more than the
RSP.

5 SUBTRACT FROM RECOMMENDED -
The store uses a price £X less than
the RSP.

6 DISCOUNT OFF RETAIL PRICE
-
The unit cost is set to be price X% lower
than the
sell price.
When you have selected a margin type (except source), a small box appears.  This allows you
to type in either the unit cost price (for store price), or a variation on the recommended sell
price (for margin types 2-6).
An example of this is shown below:
Tbd: new screenshot
Here the unit sell price is set at 10% higher than the unit cost price.  Therefore, if the unit cost
price is £0.30, the unit sell price is £0.33.
