Any product can be sent Up to 3 Kitchen Printer simultaneously.
There can be Up to 9 Kitchen Printers connected to a machine or to the
 system.
The number you will enter here is the Kitchen Printer number between 1
and 9.
For example if you want this product to go to kitchen printer 1 and
kitchen printer 4, you would enter 1 against printer 1 and 4 against
printer 2. This would then send the product to the first Kitchen Printer,
which is Kitchen Printer 1 and the to the second Kitchen Printer, which is
Kitchen Printer 4.
There is another two areas of programming that has to be set before
completion of kitchen printing, they are till parameters and printer
configuration. We will look at these later.
You would have noticed that there is great flexability and control over the
printing on these EPoS.
The lists is the next area. The lists are broken into three types,
condiment, qualifier and extra.
This is purely for better management control by the programmer.
You will notice the message “f2 for list” appears at the bottom of the
screen, if you press f2 then all the lists that have already been set up will
be displayed on screen ready for selection. This is to make the
programmers job easier.
From a server point of view the list you select here will be displayed on
the screen each time this product is sold.
The Mix & Match Feature is next. Here you enter an offer number
between 1 and 99, then each time you sell this product the mix & match
offer will be looked at and the offer product will be given free.
As a typical example you would set up an offer so that if a starter a main
and a dessert are purchased the dessert will be given free.
10
The bucket type between A and E is also used with the mix & match
offer this will allow you to set up an offer so if  you buy 2 of one type of
product and 3 of another type you get £1.00 off.
The mix & match offers will be explained in more detail later.
To save any changes and escape from this screen press the end key
until the sub menu appears.
This procedure of end to save the details and end to return to the sub
menu applies after each screen is finished with.
This ends the product file maintenance.
The next product on this sub menu is keyboard file, this is called screen
files on the up5700. Please select this choice
The only real difference between these EPoS models is with respect to
the keyboards, or screens as they are referred to on the UP5700.
First we will discuss the 850 and the 880 keyboards, then we shall look
at the UP5700 which is more powerful and flexible.
The 850 and the 880 can have Up to 9 keyboards.
Each keyboard has 2 levels.
You would select the keyboard number you want to program, followed
by the keyboard type, whether it is for the 850 or  the 880, then you will
select lower or upper level for each keyboard.
A keyboard shift button can then be allocated for use by the Server to
get quick access to the second level.

The ERA850 has 156 key positions.
11
These positions can have any key assigened to them at any time.
No key is fixed to any position, for example, on conventional cash
registers once the numeric are assigned, they can not be re positioned,
on these models they can.
The ERA880 is a touch screen type keyboard. and there are shared
areas for keys, depending on where you are in the course of the
transaction.
For example, there are 10 key positions where you would assign
servers or keys to be used before a transaction is started, once a
transaction has been started these same positions are known as trading
function keys, and there are 3 layers of trading keys giving a total of 30
key positions.
When the subtotal key is pressed these same key positions will change
to the payment type keys.
There are 84 trading keys, these will be displayed in a large size on the
right hand side of the screen, these would normally be used for list keys
or pre-sets, but any other key can be assigned.
So on the 850 machine the key area’s are fixed just like on some other
models, however on the 880 the key area’s will change to display
different keys, depending upon where you are in the transaction.
If this sound complicated please be assured that once you have seen
the 880  or the UP5700 keyboard it will not be.
Once you have made the choice of keyboard you want to program  a
new screen will be displayed.
There are four sub headers, they are:-
key
type
value
and description
under the key header is a number between 1 and 156 and these
represent the 156 key positions on the keyboard, for example on the
850 the key positions on the top row from left to right are locations 1 to
13 the next row down are key positions 14 to 26  and so on.
12
The type refers to the key type, if you press C to change, the type area
will be highlighted, now press space bar or enter the equivalent number
and the type will change between the following keys:-
EMPTY
EDIT/CONTROL
DATA
FUNCTION
PRODUCTS PRE-SET
SERVER PRE-SET
PAYMENT
LIST
and MACRO
Empty would be selected if the key is not to be used.
The Edit /control keys can be viewed by pressing the f2 key, once you
have selected the key to be a edit/control type.
The data keys refer to the numeral’s 0 to 9
When you select the key type to be function you will notice the message
“f2 for list” appear at the bottom of the screen, pressing this will display
the function keys as a sub menu, you can then page up and page down
to view more.
We will look at the function keys in more detail later.
Most of the keys are self explanatory, but each one will be explained
when we get to an area called function control.
The next choice of key type selection is pre-set products. Here you
would assign a number between zero and 98 giving you a total of 99
pre-sets per keyboard.
To complete the pre-set programming you would assign a product code
to a pre-set code in an area of programming called pre-set products.
Server pre-set is the next option
There can be up to 10 pre-set servers on each keyboard.
