3-9. EFT Diagnostics 
Perform the EFT (ER-02EF) check. 
Select the "EFT Diagnostics" in the menu, and turn off the power. 
1) EFT Check
Set all DPSSW1 on the ER-02EF to OFF and turn on the power. The
EFT check is automatically performed.

Check content
i.
Perform the loopback test of the ER-DR, ER-CI, and RS-CS for the
EFT connectorplay.
ii.
Turn on SWITCH1~8 one by one to perform DIPSW1 check.
iii. If the check is completed normally, perform the sum check of the
EFT ROM and perform write/read check of the RAM.

Press the CANCEL key to terminate the check.
3-10. Magnetic Card Reader Diagnostics
Read check of the optional UP-E12MR is performed. 
The test program reads the magnetic card of ISO 7811/1-5 standard
and displays the data. When the CANCEL key is pressed, the display
returns to the diagnostics menu. 
1) Magnetic Card Reader Check

Check content
The test program reads tracks 1 and 2 of the magnetic card of ISO
7811/1-5, and displays the data in ASCII code.

XXXXX shows the data read by the MCR. Incase of an error, the
error code is displayed as shown below.

Terminating procedure
Press the CANCEL key to terminate the check.
3-11. Drawer Diagnostics
This diagnostics is used to check the drawer open and sensors. 
The following menu is displayed. The cursor position is highlighted. Use

 key and

 key to move the cursor. Move the cursor to the process you
desire and press the enter key. The selected individual diagnostics pro-
gram is executed. When the CANCEL key is pressed, the display
returns to the diagnostics menu.
1) Drawer 1 Check

Check content
The solenoid of drawer 1 is turned on, and the drawer open sensor
value is sensed at every 100ms, and the state is displayed.

Terminating procedure
Press the CANCEL key to terminate the check. 
2) Drawer 2 Check

Check content
The solenoid of drawer 2 is turned on, and the drawer open sensor
value is sensed at every 100ms, and the state is displayed.
The display and the terminating procedure are the same as Drawer 1
Check.

3-12. Contactless CLERK Diagnostics
The contactless CLERK key code is read. The self check of the contact-
less CLERK key is also performed. 
When the contactless CLERK Diag. is performed, the following menu is
displayed. Put the cursor on the item to be executed, and press the
ENTER key to perform the individual diagnostic program. When the
CANCEL key is pressed, the display returns to the diagnostic menu. 
1) Self Check

The self check and the firmware version check are performed for the
contactless CLERK connected to RS232 CH2.

After completion of the check, press the CANCEL key to terminate
the check.
2) Key Read Test

Check content
The read command of the key is sent and the contactless CLERK
key code is displayed in hexadecimal number. The machine stands
by under the reception state. If the key status is changed, the
received key code is displayed.

After completion of the check, press the CNACEL key to terminate
the check.
3) FIRM Write
1
Operations
This diagnostic is used to write the firmware of the contactless
CLERK. By use of the firmware writing tool on the PC side, the con-
tactless CLERK firmware is written. The composition is as follows:
The machine and the PC are connected with an RS cable. 
(Operating procedure)
•  Connect CH1 of the ER-A771 and the PC with the RS cable, and turn
on the power. 
•  Execute the firmware writing program on the PC side. 
• Select “Contacless CLERK Diag.” on the diagnostic menu, and exe-
cute “FIRM Write.”
• The password entry menu is displayed. Enter the password of
“11111111” (8 digits). 
• Firmware data are received from the PC side and writing is per-
formed. 
• When writing is completed normally, the self check is performed and
the firmware version is displayed and the check is terminated nor-
mally. 
• Press the CANCEL key to terminate the diagnostic, and the display
returns to the initial menu.
