Lamp and Temperature indicators
When an indicator lights up
If a problem should occur inside the projector, the lamp indicator <LAMP> and the 
t
emperature indicator <TEMP> 
will inform you by lighting or blinking. Check the status of the indicators and remedy the indicated problems as 
follows.

Before you take a remedial measure, follow the procedure of switching the power off indicated in “Switching off the projector”.

Time to replace the lamp unit.  
 
 
A problem is detected in the luminous lamp or the luminous lamp 
power supply for the lamp.
Check
 
f
Was [REPLACE LAMP] displayed when you 
turned on the power?
 
f
The indicator lights up when the runtime 
of the lamp unit has reached 4 800 
hours (when [LAMP POWER] is set to 
[NORMAL]).
 
f
Have you turned on the power 
again immediately after turning 
it off?
 
f
Some error has occurred in 
the lamp circuit. Check for 
source voltage.
Remedy
 
f
Replace the lamp unit.
 
f
Wait a while until the luminous 
lamp cools off, and then turn on 
the power.
 
f
Turn off the projector, and 
unplug the AC power cord, 
and  repair it.
Note
 
f
If the lamp indicator <LAMP> is still lighting or blinking after taking the preceding measures, repair it .
 
f

Remove any objects that are blocking the air intake/ exhaust port.

Install the projector in a location with an ambient temperature of 0 °C (32 °F) to 
40 °C (104 °F)*

Do not use the projector at high altitudes of 2 700 m (8 858') or higher above sea 
level.
 
f
 
 
 
f
If the projector is turned off 
again, unplug the AC power 
cord and repair it.
 
*1  When using the projector at high altitudes (between 1 200 m (3 937') and 2 700 m (8 858') above sea level), the operating environment 
temperature should be between 0 °C (32 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F).

If the temperature indicator <TEMP> is still lighting or blinking after taking the preceding measures, and repair it.
 
f
When the projector is used with the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [LAMP POWER] set to [NORMAL], the [LAMP POWER] will be forcibly 
switched to [ECO1] to protect the projector if the operating environment temperature exceeds 35 °C (95 °F).

This projector provides the shutdown function to set into the standby mode immediately for product safety when the projector 
has the fan operation error or lamp lightning error.

5. 3. Lamp log data acquisition method
5. 3. 1. Equipment to be used
1. Computer : Use it for getting the lamp log data.
2. Communication cable : D-sub 9pin (male/female RS-232C straight)
3. Service Software : "ServiceVZ580.exe" Service software is downloaded from the projector service homepage.
5. 3. 2. Connection preparations
1.  Connect the serial terminals on the projector and the PC by using 
a communication cable.
5. 3. 3. Acquisition of log data
1.  Set the projector to "Normal-Standby" mode (ON(G)/STANDBY(R) 
indicator is blinking in red).
2. Start up the service software with a PC.
3. Select language and click the [OK] button.
4. 1) Choose the available serial port number on your PC.
    2) Click the [Data] button.
5. 1) Click the [Log Display] button. The log display window will appear.
  2) Click the [Lamp Log receive] button. The log data will appear on the window.

5. 4. Displaying the lamp log data
This function is to display the readable log data on the window with the service tool from the log data acquired from the Multi 
Monitoring and Control software or the error log data attached with e-mail sent from the Early Warning software.

1. Computer : Use it for displaying the lamp log data.
2. Service Software : "ServiceVZ580.exe" Service software is downloaded from the projector service homepage.
3. Log data : The log data getting from the Multi Monitoring and Control software or Early Warning software.
