4.2.12. Audio
4.2.12.1. Outline
HD Visual Communication System (HD-COM) is connected between sites via internet. 
After A/D conversion, HD-COM encodes audio from microphone and sends it to the receiver site. 
It also decrypts the encoded audio signal received from other sites and outputs the converted audio signal to speakers.
Encoded audio signal received from network is decoded at processor and is outputted to the speaker via transceiver after D/A con-
version. 
Input audio, such as from microphone, goes to the processor to be encoded and is sent to network after it is after A/D conversion.

Audio is broadly-divided into receiver, process, and transceiver.
1. Audio receiver
The number of import port of receiver part differs for VC300 and VC600 as indicated in the diagram. For VC600, 4 types are pro-
vided: digital microphone input, analog microphone input, headset audio input, Audio pin jack audio input. For VC300, 3 types
are provided: analog microphone input, headset audio input, Audio pin jack audio input.
2. Audio processor
The processor (IC1600) called as PEAKS-PRO2 is the core processor. It decodes encoded audio signal received from network
and sends it to transceiver. It also encodes input audio and sends to network.
The processor has a clock generation circuit necessary for the system.
3. Audio transceiver
For output port, both VC300 and VC600 have 3 types: HS_SP, Audio_OUT, VIDEO_OUT(HDMI#3).

This device is an IC to carry out audio processing (echo canceller/echo suppressor/AGC/equalizer) of transmitting and receiving
on audio signal other than input signal from digital microphone.
• FPGA devices(IC301) for KX-VC600
This device is an IC to frame convert audio signal from digital microphone.
Conduct connection with digital microphone and detect lighting and light-out of microphone LED of digital microphone, button
down of microphone.
It also can be used as shared memory of IC121 and 201.
