TEST  MODE
COLD  RESET
The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored in the 
memory to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning 
the set to the customer.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press three buttons of [
x
], [ENTER] and [
?/1
] simultane-
ously.
3.  When “RESET” appears, the set enters standby status.
PANEL  TEST  MODE
The fl uorescent indicator tube, version and keys can be confi rmed.
Enter The Panel Test Mode
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press three buttons of [
x
], [USB MENU] and [
?/1
] simultane-
ously.
3.  When the panel test mode is activated, LEDs and segments of 
the fl uorescent indicator tube are all turned on.
Releasing method:
Press three buttons of [
x
], [USB MENU] and [
?/1
] simultane-
ously.
Version Check
Procedure:
1.  In the panel test mode (all LEDs and segments of the fl uores-
cent indicator tube are turned on), press the [CD/USB] button.
2.  On the fl uorescent indicator tube, date and version of 
μ-com 
are displayed.
3.  In this state, each time the [CD/USB] button is pressed, infor-
mation changes between MAIN 
μ-com and USB μ-com
Releasing method:
Press three buttons of [
x
], [USB MENU] and [
?/1
] simultane-
ously.
Key Test Mode
Procedure:
1.  In the panel test mode (all LEDs and segments of the fl uores-
cent indicator tube are turned on), press the [
x
] button.
2.  Enter the key test mode.
3.  When all buttons are pressed, “KEYCNT ok” is displayed on 
the fl uorescent indicator tube.
Releasing method:
Press three buttons of [
x
], [USB MENU] and [
?/1
] simultane-
ously. Or, press any buttons after the mode ends.
CD  SHIP  &  COLD  RESET
Cold reset and CD ship mode can be executed simultaneously.
Note: Execute this mode absolutely before transporting this set.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Eject the CD.
3.  Press the [CD/USB] button to select CD function
4.  Press three buttons of [
M >
], [ENTER] and [
?/1
] simulta-
neously.
5.  When “STANDBY” and “RESET” appears, the set enters 
standby status.
ANTITHEFT  LOCK  MODE
The disc tray can be locked to prevent the theft of the demonstra-
tion disc.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Insert the CD.
3.  Press the [CD/USB] button to select CD function.
4.  Press two buttons of [ENTER] and [
Z
] for 5 seconds or larger 
simultaneously.
5.  The message “LOCKED” is displayed on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube, and the disc tray is locked.
Releasing method:
Press two buttons of [ENTER] and [
Z
] for 5 seconds or larger 
simultaneously.
The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube, and the disc tray is unlocked.
CD  SERVICE  MODE
This mode can move the SLED of the optical pick-up, and also can 
turn the optical pick-up laser power on and off.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press three buttons of [x], [USB MENU] and [DISC 1] simul-
taneously.
3.  Press the [CD/USB] button to select CD function.
4.  It enters the CD service mode and displays “SERVICE”.
Key Operation:
[. m], [M >]: 
Use these keys to move the SLED. When [M >] is pressed in 
this mode, the SLED moves to outer circumference and the mes-
sage “SLED OUT” is displayed. 
When [. m] is pressed in this mode, the SLED moves to in-
ner circumference and the message “SLED IN” is displayed. 
Releasing method:
Press three buttons of [x], [USB MENU] and [DISC 1] simultane-
ously.
