Removing and replacing Fiery X3eTY2 components

REPLACE
THE
SERVICE
BOARD
1.
If you are replacing the old service board with a new one, unpack the new board and
cable. Connect the new service board cable to the connector on the new service board.

Use the new cable from the board replacement kit. Installing the old cable on a
new service board may cause the new service board to fail.

Position the service board inside the pan, fitting the LED display and service switches
through the cutouts in the side of the pan (see Figure L on page 20).

Secure the service board to the pan using the four screws that you removed earlier.

If you installed a replacement service board, remove the existing motherboard and
install the new motherboard provided in your replacement service board kit.

Connect the free end of the service board cable to the J2 on the motherboard:

CPU cooling assembly
The CPU cooling assembly dissipates heat generated by the CPU. The cooling assembly
consists of a fan, a clamp, a heatsink, and a bracket.

Access and open the Fiery X3eTY2, as described on page 8.

Remove the 4-pin power cable from the motherboard.

Connect the CPU fan cable to the motherboard connector FAN1.
If you are installing a replacement CPU cooling assembly, secure the slack in the fan cable

Replace the 4-pin power cable to its connector on the motherboard (see Figure G on

Use the following procedures to remove and replace the CPU on the motherboard.

Lift the CPU socket lever to release the CPU from the socket.
