Removing and replacing Fiery X3eTY2 components
Motherboard
Use the following procedures to remove and replace the Fiery X3eTY2 motherboard.
If you are removing the motherboard in order to replace it with a new motherboard,
observe the following guidelines:

1.
Access and open the Fiery X3eTY2, as described on page 8.
2.
Remove the interface board from the motherboard (see page 13).
Place the removed board on an antistatic surface.
3.
Remove the following cables attached to the motherboard:
• Exhaust fan cable
• HDD data cable
• 4-pin power cable
• 20-pin power cable
• Service board cable
For the locations of each connector on the motherboard, see Figure G on page 11.

Remove the five mounting screws that secure the motherboard to the base of the
chassis pan.

Lift the edge of the motherboard opposite the connector panel to release the
motherboard from the pan. Gently slide the motherboard out of the pan, and place the
motherboard on a flat, anti-static surface.

If you are replacing the motherboard with a new motherboard, remove the following

If you are installing a new motherboard, install the DIMM(s) and CPU from the old
motherboard onto the new motherboard. For DIMM(s), see page 15; for the CPU,
see page 25.

Angle the motherboard so that the connectors on the motherboard fit into the cutouts in
the connector panel of the chassis pan, and gently slide the motherboard into the pan
(see Figure K on page 18).

3.
Align the mounting holes on the motherboard with the screw holes located in the base
of the pan.

If you installed a replacement motherboard, remove the existing service board and
service cable, and install the new service board and cable provided in your replacement
motherboard kit.

6.
Replace the following cables attached to the motherboard:
• Service board cable (J2)
• 20-pin power cable
• 4-pin power cable
• HDD data cable (SATA1)
• Exhaust fan cable (FAN3)

7.
Replace the interface board to connector PCI1 on the motherboard (see page 14).
8.
Reassemble the Fiery X3eTY2 and verify functionality (see page 36).

Service board
The service board contains the LED display and service switches.
If you are removing the service board and cable in order to replace it with a new service
board and cable, observe the following guidelines:
