I get an error when trying to access the E: which
is on the Pos. When Using Backup and Restore.
You have a C: and a D: on your PC and the backup &
restore program (c:\up5700.bak\5700baka.bat)
is written for a Pc with a single partitioned hard disk.
To overcome this issue you need to.:-
make a copy of the C:\up5700.bak\5700baka.bat file.
Then edit the file and change the Following settings.
Replace all the F: with G:
and then
Replace all the E: with F:

I am getting a “SHARING” error when Restoring
a program from PC to POS when using Hard
Disks on the 5700 / 5300
.
The error is due to the pos hard disk being
formatted with the /s switch ie system files which
are read only and when the restore is attempted
the files cannot be overwritten.
Format the pos hdd without the /s switch then
restore the program, and sys the hdd later.

I AM USING THE CREDIT CARD FOR OPENING TABLES FUNCTION ON MY 9
TILL 5700 SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE A CUSTOMER THAT CAME
IN LAST WEEK AND USED HIS CREDIT CARD TO OPEN A TABLE WHICH
WORKED FINE BUT HE HAS JUST BEEN IN AGAIN AND WHEN I SWIPED HIS
CARD AND THE MESSAGE “CARD ALREADY ASSIGNED TO TABLE 1”
APPEARED THIS WAS THE TABLE THAT MY CUSTOMER OPENED THE
PREVIOUS WEEK.
THIS COULD BE DUE TO THE CCTAB.DAT FILE WHICH IS HELD IN THE MASTER
MACHINE, IF THE MASTER IS SWITCHED OFF AND THEN THE TABLE IS CLOSED
ON THE SLAVE TILL THE CCTAB.DAT FILE WILL NOT HAVE BEEN UPDATED. AND
THEREFORE WILL STILL HOLD THE CREDIT CARD DETAILS AGAINST THAT
TABLE.
TO REMOVE THE MESSAGE SIMPLY ACCEPT THE NEW CARD AGAINST THIS
TABLE AND PROCEED. OR DROP THE APPLICATION INTO DOS AND DELETE THE
CCTAB.DAT FILE ON THE MASTER ONLY, THE FILE WILL BE RECREATED WHEN
THE SYSTEM STARTS UP AGAIN. IF THE SITE DOESN’T KEEP TABLES OPEN
AFTER END OF DAY HAS BEEN PROCESSED YOU CAN SETUP THE DOUPDATE.BAT
FILE TO DELETE THE CCTAB.DAT FILE AT END OF DAY.
