SECTION 3 ADJUSTMENTS

1.3.4. Restore the data (after board replacing)
 1. Set the projector to "Normal-Standby" mode (ON(G)/STANDBY(R) indicator lights in red).
 2. Start up the software "ServiceTool_VMZ50.exe" with a PC.
 3. Select language and click [OK] button.
 4. 1) Choose the available serial port number on your PC. 
   2) Click [OK] button.
 5. 1) Click [Send] button of 
Microcomputer
 Data. 
    2) Select the saved data file and click [Open(O)] button to start transferring the data. 
    3) The progress bar window will disappear when transferring is complete. 
    4) Restore the Gamma data and the Color unevenness correction Data in the same procedure of 1-3.
6.  After completing the writing, turn the projector off and on again, then check the projector operates correctly.

1.4. Panel type setting
1.4.1. Preparation
Before taking this setting, confirm the type of optical block (L-Type or 
R-Type) according to the item "Optical block type check" in "section 1 
Service Information".
1.4.2. Setting procedure
1.  Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select [PANEL TYPE 
SETTING].
2.  Change the panel type to [L] or [R] with [
] [
] buttons to match the 
optical block type which is installed on the projector.
  L: L-Type
  R: R-Type
1.5. Flicker adjustment
1.5.1. Adjustment procedure
1.  Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select [FLICKER 
ADJUST] and press [ENTER] button to enter the flicker adjustment 
mode.
2.  The whole red raster pattern will be displayed on the screen when 
entering the adjustment mode.
3. Adjust the flicker to be minimum with [
] [
] buttons.
4.  Change to another adjustment pattern with [
] [
] buttons and 
repeat the step 3 above.
  The projector provides 3 adjustment patterns "Red", "Green"  
   and "Blue".
5.  After finishing the adjustment, press [MENU] button to exit the 
adjustment mode.
● In case of the Optical block replaced: 
  Confirm that the type of optical block and setting are matched. 
● In case of A-PCB replaced: 
   After transferring the standard or gamma and uniformity data, 
confirm that the type of optical block and setting are matched.

1.6. Model No. setting
1.  Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select [MODEL NO. 
SETTING] and press [ENTER] button to enter the model setting 
mode.
2.  Select the model of the projector with [
] [
] buttons and press 
[ENTER] button.
3.  After finishing the setting, press [MENU] button to exit the setting 
mode.
1.7. Clog sensor calibration
1.7.1. Preparation
This is to calibrate the clog sensor circuit.
•  This calibration should be done in the condition that the projector is 
completely assembled and place on the floor and the adjuster legs 
are set in the cabinet bottom.
• Replace the air filter unit with new one before starting calibration.
•  The work should be done at the location where there are no heat 
apparatus and the ventilation opening of the air-conditioner and the 
object to block the exhaust air.
1.7.2. Adjustment procedure
1.  Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select [CLOG 
SENSOR CALIBRATION], and press [ENTER] button to enter the 
adjustment mode.
2. Select [OK] and press [ENTER] button to start the calibration.
  During the calibration, the projector displays white raster.
3.  After apporox. 20 minutes, the calibration is complete and the 
white screen switches to normal screen.
Do not turn off the projector during the calibration.

1.8. White balance adjustment
1.8.1. Adjustment procedure
1. Input the gray scale gradation pattern.
2.  Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select [WHITE 
BALANCE ADJUST] and press [ENTER] button to enter the ad-
justment mode.
3. Select the adjustment item with [
] [
] buttons.
4.  Adjust the white balance of halftone image on the screen with
   [
] [
] buttons.
  Adjustment range: 0 to 1024 (Center: 512)
5.  After finishing, press [MENU] button to exit the adjustment mode.
<Note>
The projector can store the white balance level for each picture 
mode as shown below. Adjust the white balance for each mode 
properly.

1.9. Acceleration calibration
1.9.1. Preparation
This is to calibrate the acceleration correction circuit.
• This calibration should be done in the condition that the projector is 
completely assembled and placed on the flat floor and the adjuster 
legs are set in the cabinet bottom.
1.9.2. Adjustment procedure
1. Enter the service mode (EXTRA OPTION) and select  
  [ACCELERATION CALIBRATION].
2. Press [ENTER] button to start the calibration. The screen will  
   become all blue during calibration.
3. When the calibration is complete normally, the screen will   
    become all white and the message is displayed on the screen.
  The calibration is take about 1 minute.
4. Press [MENU] button to exit the adjustment mode.
