The flat cables, flexible card wires and boards are used to connect between the following boards. Life of
flexible card wire will be significantly shortened if it is folded. Be very careful not to fold the flat cables,
flexible card wires and boards.
Because the direction of the flat cables, flexible card wires and boards are different depending on the
shape of the connector, be careful when connecting the flat cables, flexible card wires and boards.

1.

Turn off the power.

2.

Lift up the portion A in the direction of the arrow to unlock and pull out the flexible card wire.

. Do not insert the coaxial cable with connector sideways.
. Check that there is no stain or dust on the contact surface of the coaxial cable with connector.

Lift up the portion A in the direction of the arrow and securely insert the flexible card wire into the
deep end of the connector.

2.

Return the portion A to its original position and lock the connector.

When connecting the flexible card wire, check the connector shape, and great care should be taken for the
direction of the contact surface or isolation surface.

For obtaining the each application for upgrading and upgrade file, contact your local Sony Sales Office/
Service Center.

1.

Set Standby Mode to “Standard” on the Setup menu.

If the Standby Mode is not set to “Standard”, the software cannot be upgraded normally.

2.

Disconnect the AC plug of this unit.

3.

Connect PC to the REMOTE terminal on the connector panel of this unit using the RS-232C cross
cable.

Double-click Flash.exe to start the application.

Application name:

Main Flash Upgrader for Sony
Projector

Execution file name: Flash.exe

When starting the application first, the following errors
may appear. But, continue the procedure.
“No. 300: No information file was found.”
“No. 711: No download file was found.”

2.

Click the [Select] button for select download infor-
mation file.
The file open window appears.

3.

Select the download information file.
File to be selected: qhav

**** means version number. Example: qhav100a.dli)

4.

Click the [Setting] button of the “Com.”.

5.

Set the following items.

Bit rate:

38,400 bit/s

Serial port: Serial port number used for connecting

PC

Time out: Arbitrary

(Communication retrial time. default: 5
sec.)

6.

Select “User Program Mode”.

7.

Click the [Start] button.
The start window appears.

8.

Click the [OK] button.
The “Please AC Plug In” window appears.

9.

Connect the AC plug of this unit.

10. Check the Standby Mode is set to “Standard”. (Refer

to section 1-9-1 “Preparation”.)

11. Click the [OK] button.

The writing starts and the write window appear.

12. The end window appears. (Upgrade completed)

Connect the AC plug and set this unit to standby state.

2.

Check the Standby Mode is set to “Standard”. (Refer
to section 1-9-1 “Preparation”.)

3.

Double-click FlashUpgraderForSony35.exe to start the
application.

Application name:

SDK FlashUpgrader

3.5 or later

4.

Select the COM port to COM port number used for
connecting PC.

5.

Select the Baud Rate to “115200”.

6.

Click the [Choose...] button.
The file selection window appears.

7.

Select the upgrade file.
File to be selected: pw0p

**** means version number. Example: pw0p100a.inf)

8.

Check that the two hex files appear on the Files To
Download field.

9.

Click the [Ext|_||232C|PW|_||1] button.

10. Click the [Flash] button.

The upgrading starts and the status bar appears. And
the [Flash] button changes to the [Cancel] button.

11. After completed, check that the [Cancel] button

changes to the [Flash] button.

12. Disconnect the AC plug.
