2. Projective Resolving Power Checking Method
1) Turn the focus ring of the checking lens until the chart image projected on the screen is the sharpest at the center (y = 0).
2) Read the number of the smallest pitched lines at the center (y = 0).
1) Turn the focus ring of the checking lens until the chart image projected on the screen is the sharpest at the center (y = 0).
2) Read the number of the smallest pitched lines at the center (y = 0).
The number represents for lines per mm.
Sagittal (S)
Meridional (M)

4-4-3
3) Rotate the mount rotational plate of the lens projector while observing y = 9, y = 12, y = 15 or y = 18 and stop it at the location where
the projective resolving power is the worst (low).
Read the number of the smallest pitched lines (both sagittal and meridional: 3 lines) at the peripheral point.
Note:
Note:
When reading the number of the smallest pitched lines, be careful of the spurious resolution.
Spurious resolution is the reversed image of 2 or 4 lines which appears on screen when focus is beyond maximum revolving power as shown in
Fig. 4-4-4.
Fig. 4-4-4.
Do not confuse spurious resolution for the smallest pitched lines.

4) Change the focal length and projected length of the checking lens. (In case of the zoom lens), project the S image and the M image at
each focal point/projected length and confirm that the number of resolution satisfies the specification of the Table 4-4-1.

4-4-2. Projective Resolving Power (Partial Blur) Adjustment
Check the projective resolving power. If the value does not satisfy the specification, perform the projective resolving power adjustment.
1. Adjustment Method 1 (TELE end)
In case that the partial blur exists at the TELE end (f=400 mm)
1) Remove the 1st lens assy.
2) Adjust the partial blur by increasing or decreasing the 1st tilt adjustment washers between the 1st lens assy and the 1st adjustment wash-
2) Adjust the partial blur by increasing or decreasing the 1st tilt adjustment washers between the 1st lens assy and the 1st adjustment wash-

Note:
Note:
Insert the 1st tilt adjustment washer in the position of the back-focus tendency.
(When the 1st tilt adjustment washer is inserted in the position of the back-focus tendency, the inserted position tilts to the front-focus side.)
Install the 1st lens assy to the original position.
When performing the partial blur adjustment, tighten the screws, starting with the location where the 1st tilt adjustment washer is inserted.
3) Confirm the projective resolving power. And if the value does not satisfy the specification, perform repeatedly steps 1) and 2).

Note:
Note:
By moving the 6th assy from the front-focus tendency position to the back-focus tendency position, the partial blur can be improved.
