A quick reference table is shown below which enables a quick check if the
following symptoms are caused by defects or not when clients bring in the
DSC-F55/F55E to reception counter of service shop.

memory capacity.

with other devices.

(2) Check relation between the respective files 

and directories.  If any error is found, 
correct the filename or extension or others.

When a flash memory is found defective, a memory in which the control data has already been written before can be supplied as the repair
part after it is mounted on a circuit board.

There are three methods to replace the EEPROM.  Proceed the replacement steps in the following order.

1 Remove the old EEPROM from the DSC-F55/55E and install it to the new board.
2 When removal and installation of the old EEPROM as described in step 1 are difficult, make a backup copy of the data that is stored in the

old EEPROM and write the data into the new EEPROM.

3 When the procedure as described in step 2 is difficult, make a backup copy of the data that is stored in the EEPROM of other DSC-F55/

55E and write the data into the new EEPROM.  If any correction of data is necessary, correct the data.
