Select Server Setup to enter the server setup program and follow through the
settings below.

Server Name

Enter the name the customer wants displayed on the LCD display and how they
want the ARPE1 to appear in Network Neighbourhood. The default name of
Bears-8Exx should be changed if more than one ARPE1 is installed on the
network. Press the OK key after entering or editing the name.

System Date

Edit the system date as needed and press the OK key.

System Time

Edit the system time as needed and press the OK key.

Print Start Page

Select Yes or No as required by the customer and press the OK key.

Character Set

Select the character set desired by the customer and press the OK key.  The
default setting is Macintosh.  The suggested setting for a Windows network is
Windows.

Enable Printed Queue

Normally, this should be set to Yes if either the Fiery Spooler or Web Spooler is to
be used. Press the OK key after making the selection.

Jobs Saved in Printed Queue

Select the number of print jobs to be saved as desired by the customer and press
the OK key. Note: This selection will only appear if Yes was selected in the
previous step.

Select Yes when prompted to Save Changes.  Press the OK key.

Select Network Setup.

Select Port Setup, then Ethernet Setup.  Select Yes and follow through the
settings below.

Ethernet Speed

Normally, the default setting of Auto Detect is used. The ARPE1 will then
automatically determine the speed needed to work on the network. If any
connection problems are experienced, change this setting to match the speed of
the HUB being used. Press the OK key to continue.

Select Exit Port Setup.

Select Protocol Setup, then TCP/IP Setup, and then Ethernet Setup.

Enable TCP/IP for Ethernet

Select Yes and press the OK key.

Enable auto IP configuration

Select Yes only if a DHCP server is being used.  Otherwise, select No and press
the OK key.

IP Address

Fill in with a unique IP Address that conforms to the Windows workgroup IP
addressing scheme and press the OK key.  This message and the next two
messages will not appear if Yes was selected for Enable auto IP configuration.

Subnet Mask

Enter the subnet mask used by the Windows workgroup and press the OK key.
After the “TCP/IP successfully bound to Ethernet” message appears, press the
OK key.

If a gateway is used on the network, select Gateway Setup, enter the IP address
of the gateway and press the OK key.

Select Exit TCP/IP Setup, then Exit Protocol Setup.

Under Network Setup, Select Service Setup, and then select Windows Setup.
Follow through the settings below.

Enable Windows Printing

Select Yes to allow the AR-PE1 to announce itself on the network.  Press the OK
key.

After the “Binding TCP/IP to Ethernet.  Please wait…” message clears, Use WINS
Name Server will be displayed: Select Yes if a Windows Internet Name Service
Server (WINS) is in use on the network.  Otherwise, select No.  Press the OK key.

WINS Server IP Address

Enter the IP address of the WINS server if one is being used, and press the OK
key.  This message will not appear if No was entered in the previous step.

Server Name

This is the same name that was set under ‘Server Setup-Server Name’. The two
settings are linked. This name must be unique to the network. Press the OK key
after entering or editing the NetBIOS name.

Server Comments

Enter any comments the customer would like and press the OK key.

Set Domain name

Before this setting is made ensure that if you are going to join a Domain, a
computer account has been made for the ARPE1 on a domain controller.

Use Select from list or Enter manually and press the OK key. If Select from list is
used, all workgroups and NT Domain names used in the network will be
displayed.  Be sure to pick the correct workgroup.  Alternately, the name of the
Windows workgroup used by the workstations can be manually entered.  After
entering the name, press the OK key

Press the down arrow navigation key and select Web Services Setup.

Enable Web Services

Select Yes to use the Web Installer or Web Spooler. Select No if these services
are not needed.  Press the OK key.

Select Exit Service Setup, then Exit Network Setup.

Select Yes when prompted to Save Changes?

Select Printer Setup and follow through the settings below.

Publish Direct Connection

Select Yes if the customer does not want to store jobs on the ARPE1 hard drive.
Press the OK key after making the selection.

Publish Print Queue

Select Yes.  If No is selected, then the Publish Direct Connection must be set to
Yes to successfully print from the Windows workgroup. Press the OK key.

Publish Hold Queue

If the ARPE1 is to be installed in an environment where all print jobs need to be
controlled by a print room operator and then released, you can select Yes and
enable the Hold queue.

Select Yes when prompted to Save Changes?  Press the OK key.

Scroll down the menu and select PS Setup. Follow through the settings below.

Default Paper Sizes

Select Metric for the UK and Press the OK key after making the selection.

Convert Paper Sizes

To overcome possible Letter sized print jobs stalling the printer, alter this setting
to “Letter/11x17>A4/A3”. Press the OK key after making this selection.

Page Order

For an ARC150, ensure that the Page Order is changed from Forward to
Reverse. This ensures that multi paged documents are printed with their last page
at the bottom face up and their first page at the top face up.

Colour Mode

The default setting is CMYK , which means that printing is performed in colour.
The alternative setting is greyscale.

Print to PS

When set to Yes, a Postscript error page will be output from the machine if a
postscript error occurs. As default, this setting is set to No and so if a postscript
error occurs the print job will simply be flushed from the system.

Allow Courier Substitution

If the fonts requested in the print job are not in the printer or within the print job, a
postscript error could occur. To overcome this, set this setting to Yes and any
missing fonts will be replaced with the Courier font. This ensures that at least you
obtain your printed document albeit with the altered font.

Print Cover Page

Is a cover page required before every printed job? The default is No.

Select Yes when prompted to Save Changes?  Press the OK key.

Scroll up the screen and select Exit Setup. The ARPE1 will reboot.
