There is also the D-EAN this is the Dynamic EAN file.
This will allow an An EAN that has not been programmed into the machine to be
stored in a separate file to the main EANs. When it has been entered in the Reg
position.
The EAN/PLU sales/report file is under the central control of the master terminal.
This happens because the Data is sent back to the Master by T Log Polling.

T-Log Polling
This is a brief description of the T-Log polling feature on the UP600/700 as part of the
Training guide.
The T Log polling system works by the Slave machine informing the Master that he
has data that must now be sent to the master terminal for file update.
Caution. Do not create T log file in the master if it is not an ON-LINE machine
T log polling starts when the Open Store command is carried out and it will stop T log
polling when the store is closed.
The slave machines have a setting for the number of records that they can store
before they send a request to the master to come and get their data.
This is set at job 923-AB.
Once the Master has got the slaves data and consolidated it he then waits the length
of the Polling Cycle before he goes to the next slave that has requested polling.
The features that require T-Log polling are: -
Sales data of the EAN/PLU
The learning feature will require the T-Logging if there is no D EAN file created.
Price change will also require the use of T logging, as the changed price will be sent
to all terminals in the system after open store.
The customer data is also centrally controlled in the master so data entered at the
The T Log Polling sends slave to the master.
