1. Introduction
The purpose of the release of the pre-course training guides is to
give the support personnel a clearer understanding of all the
aspects of the products covered.
The understanding gained from completing this guide, will enable
them to support the products covered to a minimum standard and
will ensure a sound platform on which to build up their knowledge,
when attending the training course.
There is a question section at the end of the guide. All the answers
to these questions are contained within this guide. Please

2. General
The UP600 and the UP700 machines fit into the Mid range of the Sharp ECR/EPoS
line up.
They have been released with improved functionality and performance based on the
ERA490 and ERA610.
The following pages will outline the additional features and the overall improvements
these products offer.
Differences between the UP600 and the UP700
UP600 has raised keys.
UP700 has a flat type keyboard
UP700 comes with one set of 12 real clerk keys.
There are different default Service lines and File settings on both products.
Both machines can be set to have the same functionality.
The Keyboards can not be exchanged without changes to the main circuit board
Main Features of the UP600 and the UP700
Multi line Display for easy-to-operate and easy-to-program.
Ethernet for high-speed data communications and easy connection to PC.
High speed and high quality thermal Printing.
3. Hardware Overview

The operator display used in the UP600/700 is an LCD back light ltype.
20 caracters per line with 8 lines.
