[2] The check of whether the Touch Pen mode is set to ON in the setting of the display

It can be checked by OSD when the "Recall" button on the remote control is pressed on (Fig. 1) or a Touch Pen mode setting screen (Fig. 2).

Set "ON" or "OFF" for each input terminal. 
The electronic pen cannot be used when VIDEO or COMPONENT input is selected.
The default of Touch Pen mode is OFF.
After carrying out the self check for initializing, or when a A board 
is replaced, 
it is necessary to set Touch Pen mode to ON.

It judges by indicator (Fig. 3) of an electronic pen, and the OSD display at the time of pairing tool soft starting.
Indicators of electronic pen express the existence of the pairing information on an electronic pen adapter, and OSD of pairing
tool software expresses the existence of the pairing information on an electronic pen.
Pairing can be carried out when both pairing information is in agreement.

When all the release is performed with a pairing tool using two or more pen, or when the same pen is being used with two
or more electronic pen adapters, and so on, since  pairing may not be made, please check once again whether a character
can be drawn by electronic pen after carrying out pairing. 
Supplement 1: [The check of setting for malfunction of electronic pen]
[1] The check of whether the power is supplied without fitting optical attachment
Detach the optical attachment and then slide the power switch to "ON".

[TOUCH-PEN : ON]  is displayed in Touch Pen mode.
Cautions
If you removed the optical attachment with the power switch being in "ON", it becomes operation as a remote pointer. 
When you use it as the electronic pen, please be sure to slide the power switch to "ON", with the optical attachment
detached.

7 Service Fixture & Tools
7.1.
SC jig
Purpose:
 
To find the failure board (SC or SU/SM/SD) when the power LED is blinking 7 times.
SC jig:
Jumper connector to connect to SC50 connector on SC board
Part number:

How to use:
Caution: Remove SC jig from SC board after inspection.
1. Remove all connector between SC board and SU/SM/SD board to isolate SC board from SU/SM/SD board electrically. 
Note: The board will be damaged if all connector is not removed (for example; remove connector only for SU board 
and stay connecting with SM/SD board. The board will be damaged.) 
2. Connect SC jig to connector SC50 at left bottom side of SC board.
3. Turn on the TV/Display Unit and confirm the power LED blinking.
LED blinking: Possible cause of failure is in SC board
No LED blinking (Lighting or no lighting): Possible cause of failure is in SU, SM or SD board
4. After inspection, turn off the TV/Display Unit and wait a few minutes to discharge.
5. Remove SC jig from SC board.

8 Disassembly and Assembly Instructions
• The important matter at the time of electronic pen exchange
- Please register electronic pen, when electronic pen is exchanged.
- There is a maximum in electronic pen's number of registration.
• The important matter at the time of electronic pen adapter exchange
- Since electronic pen's registration information is memorized by the electronic pen adapter, in electronic pen adapter
exchange, re-registration of electronic pen is required for it.
(It is unrelated in the registration information, A-Board, and the main part of a display of an electronic pen)
• To disassemble P.C.B., wait for 10 minute after power was off for discharge from electrolysis capacitors.
•   ,  ,  ,   and   marks indicate screw positions.
