11.4.1. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE HISTORY REPORT
(1) ROM VERSION
FLASH ROM version
(2) SUM
FLASH ROM internal data calculation.
(3) YOUR LOGO
The user logo recorded in the unit. If it is not recorded,
NONE will be displayed.
(4) YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER
The user telephone number recorded in the unit. If it is not
recorded, NONE will be displayed.
(5) Not used
(6) FACTORY - CUSTOMER
This shows how many days from factory production until the
user turns ON the unit.
(7) MONTH
The shows the very first month, date, year and time set by
the user after they purchased the unit.
(8) DAY
The shows the very first month, date, year and time set by
the user after they purchased the unit.
(9) YEAR
The shows the very first month, date, year and time set by
the user after they purchased the unit.
(10) TIME
The shows the very first month, date, year and time set by
the user after they purchased the unit.
(11) USAGE TIME
The amount of time the unit has been powered ON.
(12) FACTORY - NOW
This shows how many days from factory production until the
user prints out this history list.
(13) TEL MODE
The amount of time the TEL mode setting was used.
(14) FAX MODE
The amount of time the FAX mode setting was used.

The last set receiving mode by the user.

The recorded directory stations (one touch dial).

12 Troubleshooting Guide
12.1. USER RECOVERABLE ERRORS
If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.
The explanations given in the [ ] are for servicemen only.
DISPLAY MESSAGE
CAUSE AND REMEDY
• Polygon motor error.
Refer to CALL SERVICE 1 (P.121).
• Laser beam error. Replace LSU unit.
Refer to CALL SERVICE 2 (P.122).
• Fuser unit cannot heat up. Replace fuser unit.
Refer to CALL SERVICE 3 (P.123).
• Fan motor error. Replace fan motor.
Refer to CALL SERVICE 4 (P.124).
• Print motor error. (only for DC motor)
Refer to CALL SERVICE 5 (P.126).
• Charge unit error
(An error occurred in the Charge unit including High voltage unit. (Also the Charger went wrong.))
Refer to CALL SERVICE 6 (P.127).
• There is something wrong with the Home sensor.
• There is something wrong with the drum unit. Replace the drum unit and the toner cartridge.
• The document was not fed into the unit properly. Re-insert the document. If misfeeding occurs frequently,
clean the document feeder rollers and try again.
• The drum unit is not inserted properly. Re-insert it correctly.
• The memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-program.
- “#1”: Paper input tray
- “#2”: Manual input tray
• Recording paper was not fed into the unit properly. Re-insert the recording paper.
• The cover at the left side of the optional input tray is open. Close it.
• The ADF cover is open. Close it.
• There is no space to store new items in navigator directory. Erase unnecessary items.
• The drum life is near to an end. Replace the drum unit as soon as possible.
• The unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed message instructions to print out the docu-
ment.
• If you select the computer that will be used for receiving a fax in feature #443, and feature #442 is set to
“ALWAYS”, check the connection between the computer and the unit.
• Copying has stopped due to a lack of recording paper or paper being fully stacked on the output tray. See
the other displayed message instructions to continue copying. If copying is not restarted within few min-
utes, copying will be canceled.
• The inside of the unit is extremely cold and cannot be operated. Use the unit in a warmer area. While the
unit cannot be operated, the received documents are temporarily stored into the memory, and will be
printed out automatically when the unit warms up.
• When performing memory transmission, the document being stored exceeded the memory capacity of the
unit. Send the entire document manually.
• When making a copy, the document being stored exceeded the memory capacity of the unit. Press [STOP]
to clear the message. Divide the document into sections.

• There is something wrong with the unit’s modem.
• The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again.
- “#1”: Paper input tray
- “#2”: Manual input tray
• Recording paper is not installed or the input tray has run out of paper. Install paper.
• Recording paper is not fed into the unit properly. Reinstall paper.
• A recording paper jam occurred inside of the optional input tray. Clear the jammed paper.
• The cable or the computer power cord is not connected correctly. Check the connections.
• The software is not running on the computer. Restart the software and try again.
• The unit is warming up. Wait for a while.
• The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again.
• The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document.
• Attempted to send a document longer than 600 mm (23

"). Press [STOP] to remove the document.
Divide the document into two or more sheets and try again.
• The recording paper is installed in the manual input tray when trying to copy, recieve faxes or print  reports.
Remove the recording paper from manual input tray.
• The drum life is complete. Replace the drum unit immediately.
• The memory is full of received documents due to a lack of recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install
paper or clear the jammed paper.
• The toner life is complete. Replace the toner cartridge immediately.
• The toner life is near to an end. Replace the toner cartridge as soon as possible.
• The top cover is open. Close it.
• A transmission error occurred. Try again.
• The inside of the unit is too cold. Let the unit warm up. Wait for a while.
• The unit is warming up before operation starts. Wait for a while.
• The fax message was printed on paper which is shorter than letter size paper. Use the appropriate size
paper.
