2-6. Freezer Door Opening Related Function
1. When freezer door is open, dispenser stops in order to prevent noise and ice drop to the floor.
2. The icemaker carries out ice ejection or return to the level operation even though the freezer door is open.
3. If freezer door is open, the geared motor and ice cube solenoid immediately stop but duct door solenoid stops after five
seconds.
4. Water dispenser stops water dispensing when freezer door is open.
5. Test function works normally even freezer door is open.
3. Icemaker Circuits
The above icemaker circuits are applied to dispenser models and composed of icemaker unit in the freezer and icemaker
driving part in PWB. The water is supplied to ice tray for the set time by opening valve which is opened by solenoid relay
for ice valve of solenoid valve located in the machine room. Water supply automatically stops when the set time is
elapsed. This circuit is for the functions of ice ejection, detection of full of ice, levelling, icemaking temperature sensing.
The circuit of icemaking temperature detection is the same as that of temperature detector of main PWB. The circuit of
icemaker test switch input sensor is the same as that of door switch input detector of main PWB.

2. Test button does not work during ice ejection and water supply period but works when the tray is horizontal. If the ice
bank is full of ice, ice ejection and water supply controls do not work during test function period.
3. If test switch is pressed for more than 0.5 second when tray is horizontal, ice ejection operation will start even though the
water in the tray is not iced over. Therefore water will spill when test switch is pressed if there is water in the tray. Ice
ejection is followed by levelling and water supply operation. It is possible therefore to check the troubles on each ice
ejection, levelling and water supply operations. If the test function works normal, buzzer will sound and water supply
control process starts to work. If there is no buzzer sound, therefore, check and repair it as it is abnormal.

4. How to diagnose the troubles of Icemaker
* Trouble Diagnosis : Troubles can be diagnosed by pressing freezer Temp Control button and Power Freezer button for
more than one second.(It is normal if all LEDs are on.)
