Tracking Offset Adjustment
Condition: This adjustment is performed with the set placed
horizonatally.
Connection:
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Connect the oscilloscope TP (TE) and TP (VC) on the SERVO
board.
2. Put the set into play mode by loading the disc (YEDS-18).
3. Press the
=, + keys (or 0, ) keys) on the master
unit and observe the traverse waveform*.
4. Adjust the RV11 on the SERVO boad so that the oscilloscope
reading is symmetrical in relation to 0 V.
* Traverse waveform: This is the tracking error waveform appears
when crossing the track.
VOLT/DIV: 0.5 V (with the 10 : 1 probe in use)
TIME/DIV: 2 msec
CENTER: 0 ± 0.05 V
Connection and Adjustment Location:
SERVO board (see page 19)
CD SECTION
Notes:
1. Perform adjustments in the order given.
2. Use YEDS-18 disc (Part No.: 3-702-101-01) unless otherwise
indicated.
3. Use the oscilloscope with more than 10 M
 impedance.
4. Power supply voltage requirement: DC14.4 V (more than 3A)
Focus Bias Adjustment
Condition: This adjustment is performed with the set placed hori-
zontally.
Connection:
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Connect the oscilloscope to TP (RF) and TP (VC) on the
SERVO board.
2. Put the set into play mode by loading the disc (YEDS-18).
3. Adjust the RV12 on the SERVO boad so that the wateform on
the oscilloscope (eye pattern) is good.
(A good eye pattern means that the diamond shape (
) in the
center of the oscilloscope can be clearly distinguished.)
• RF signal reference waveform (eye pattern)
VOLT/DIV: 200 mV (with the 10 : 1 probe in use)
TIME/DIV: 0.5 µsec
Note:
When observing the eye pattern, set the oscilloscope to AC range
and raise the vertical sensitivity so that it may be easily seen.
Connection and Adjustment Location:
SERVO board (see page 19)

13.5 MHz Adjustment
Connection:
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Connect the frequency counter to IC205 pin @¶ (RCK) on the
MAIN board.
2. Put the set into play mode by loading the disc (HLV-401 (TGIS-
3)).
3. Adjust the CT201 on the MAIN board so that the frequency
counter reading is 13.5 MHz.
Connection and Adjustment Location: MAIN board
OSD Screen Adjustment
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Press the FM or AM key on the master unit (for the master
unit, see operating method of this set on page 3).
2. A graphic will be displayed on the monitor TV.
3. Under this condition, adjust the CT202 on the MAIN board so
that the graphic on the screen becomes A = B.
Adjustment Location: MAIN board
VIDEO SECTION
Setting:
Notes:
1. Perform adjustments in the order given.
2. Use HLV-401 (TGIS-3) disc (Part No.: 4-978-510-01) unless
otherwise indicated.
3. Use the oscilloscope with more than 10 M
 impedance.
4. Power supply voltage requirement: DC14.4 V (more than 3A)
