SECTION  4
TEST  MODE
1.  HOW  TO  ENTER  THE  TEST  MODE 
Procedure:
1.  While holding the [
u
] button, press the following buttons 
one after another in the order shown below. 
 [VOL 
+] 
→ [VOL +] → [VOL –] → [VOL –] → [VOL +] → 
[VOL –] 
→ [VOL +] → [VOL –] →  [
 HOME] 
→ 
[
 HOME]
2.  After the screen turns off once and turns back on, remove your 
hand from the [
u
] button. 
3.  Wait until the message “PUSH ANY KEY GOTO MENU...” is 
displayed on the screen. 
4.  When any button is pressed, the main menu appears.

2.  HOW  TO  CHANGE  THE  TEST  MODE
Procedure:
1.  Enter the TEST mode so that the MAIN MENU is displayed 
on the screen. 
2.  Select the desired test item by using the [

] button and the 
[
.
] button.  
3.  Click the [
u
] button to display the SUB MENU of the se-
lected test item. 
4.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen to return the screen from the SUB MENU to the 
MAIN MENU. 
3.  SYSTEM  PARAMETER  INITIALIZE
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“4. SYSTEM” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] but-
ton.
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. SYSTEM PARAM INIT” 
of the SYSTEM menu.
3.  Click the [
u
] button to display the following message:
 
“PUSH ‘PLAY’ START”
4.  Click the [
u
] button. Then, the system parameters are all ini-
tialized. Upon completion of the parameter initialization, the 
screen displays the following message and returns to the SYS-
TEM menu. 
  “Parameter 
Initialized.”
4.  ALL  KEY  CHECK  MODE
Procedure:
1.  Set the [HOLD 
B
] switch to the HOLD ON position.
2.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“1. KEY CHECK” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
button. 
3.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. DEVICE CHECK” of the 
KEY CHECK menu.
4.  Click the [
u
] button to display the following message:
 
 
“PUSH ‘ANY KEY’ START”
5.  Press the [
u
] button to display the following message:
 
 
“0x0001 (ALL = 0x01f7)
6.  Press the [
 HOME] button to add the hexadecimal 
number 2h and display the following indication:
 
 
“0x0003 (ALL = 0x01f7)
7.  Set the [HOLD 
B
] switch in the HOLD OFF position to add 
the hexadecimal number 4h and display the following indica-
tion:
 
 
“0x0007 (ALL = 0x01f7)
8.  Press the  [VOL –] button to add the hexadecimal number 10h 
and display the following indication:
 
 
“0x0017 (ALL = 0x01f7)
9.  Press the [VOL +] button to add the hexadecimal number 20h 
and display the following indication:
 
 
“0x0037 (ALL = 0x01f7)
10. Press the [
>
] button to add the hexadecimal number 40h and 
display the following indication:
 
 
“0x0077 (ALL = 0x01f7)
11. Press the [
.
] button to add the hexadecimal number 80h and 
display the following indication:
 
 
“0x00f7 (ALL = 0x01f7)
12. Press the [  PLAY MODE 
 SOUND] button to return the 
screen to the SUB MENU “1. DEVICE CHECK” after dis-
playing “KEY CHECK OK”.
13. While the screen is in any step of step 5 to 11 of the All Key 
Check Mode, press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” 
is displayed on the screen to cancel the All Key Check Mode 
and return to the KEY CHECK menu.
5.  CHARGE  CURRENT  SELECT
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“2. CHARGE” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] but-
ton. 
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. CHARGE START/STOP” 
of the CHARGE menu.
3.  Select “2. SET CHARGE POWER” by the [
>
] button.
4.  Whenever the [
u
] button is clicked, the charge current tog-
gles between the two values as shown. 
 
 
“CHG 100mA” and “CHG 500mA”
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen and return to the CHARGE menu. 
6.  CHARGE  ON/OFF  SELECT
Procedure:
1.  Connect the equipment to the USB port of a PC. 
2.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“2. CHARGE” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] but-
ton.
3.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. CHARGE START/STOP” 
of the CHARGE menu. 
4.  Click the [
u
] button to display the following message:
  “CHG: 
XXXmA”
 
 
“CHG STOP” (or “CHG START”)
5.  Whenever the [
u
] button is clicked, the charge current is 
turned ON and OFF, and the screen toggles between the fol-
lowing two messages. 
  “CHG: 
XXXmA”
  “CHG 
START 
→ Started.”
  And 
  “CHG: 
XXXmA”
  “CHG 
STOP 
→ Stopped.”
6.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
to return to the CHARGE menu. 
7.  BEEP  ON/OFF
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“5. BEEP” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] button.
2. Click the [
u
] button to display “1. BEEP ON/OFF” of the 
BEEP menu. 
3.  Whenever the [
u
] button, the screen toggles between the fol-
lowing two messages:
 
 
“BEEP: ON” and “BEEP: OFF”
4. Confi rm that the beep sounds from the headphones when 
“BEEP OFF” is switched to “BEEP ON”. 
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen to return to the BEEP menu.

8.  DISPLAY  CHECK
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“6. DISPLAY” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] but-
ton.
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. ALL SCREEN DISPLAY” 
of the DISPLAY menu.
3.  Click the [
u
] button to display the following message.
 
“PUSH ‘PLAY’ START”
4.  Whenever the [
u
] button is clicked, the screen changes in the 
following order. 
 
 
Entire screen becomes all red. 
 
 
Entire screen becomes all green. 
 
 
Entire screen becomes all blue. 
 
 
Entire screen becomes all black. 
 
 
Entire screen becomes all white. 
 
 
Color bars are displayed on the screen. 
 
 
Dot pattern is displayed on the entire screen. 
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen to return to the DISPLAY menu. 
9.  TUNER  ON/OFF
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“3. TUNER” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] button.
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. TUNER ON/OFF” of the 
TUNER menu.
3.  Whenever the [
u
] button is clicked, the tuner toggles be-
tween ON and OFF, and the screen toggles between the fol-
lowing two messages:
 
 
“Tuner: ON” and “Tuner: OFF”
4. Confi rm that the FM broadcast is received by using the head-
phones during “TUNER ON”.
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen to return to the TUNER menu. 
10. FM  RECEPTION  FREQUENCY  CHECK
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“3. TUNER” by using the [
>
] button and the  [
.
] but-
ton.
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. TUNER ON/OFF” of the 
TUNER menu.
3.  Select “2. TUNER FREQ SET” by the [
>
] button. 
4.  Whenever the [
u
] button is clicked, the screen changes in the 
following order. 
  “Freq 
→ MIN (87.50 MHz)”
  “Freq 
→ CENTER (97.50 MHz)”
  “Freq 
→ MAX (108.00 MHz)”
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “RETURN” is displayed 
on the screen to return to the TUNER menu. 
11. SLEEP  CHECK
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“4. SYSTEM” by using the [
>
] button and the [
.
] but-
ton.
2.  Click the [
u
] button to display “1. SYSTEM PARAM INIT” 
of the SYSTEM menu.
3.  Select “2. SYSTEM SLEEP/WAKE” by the [
>
] button.
4.  Click the [
u
] button to display the following message:
  “PUSH 
‘PLAY’ 
START”
5.  Press and hold the [
u
] button until “SLEEP IN” is displayed 
to enter the SLEEP mode. 
6.  When the [
u
] button is released, the screen exits the SLEEP 
mode to display the SYSTEM menu after showing “SLEEP 
OUT”. 
12. INFORMATION  CHECK
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“7. INFO” by using the [

] button and the [

] button. 
2.  Click the [

] button to display “1. SYSTEM INFORMA-
TION” of the INFO menu.
3.  Whenever the [

] button is clicked, the screen changes in the 
following order:

13. HOW  TO  EXIT  THE  TEST  MODE
Procedure:
1.  While the MAIN MENU is displayed in the TEST mode, select 
“99 REBOOT” by using the [

] button and the [

] but-
ton.
2. Click the [
u
] button. Then, the screen disappears momen-
tarily, and the system reboots in the normal mode.
