2. Power Control Circuit
2-1. VB voltage
Power Control IC9001 is the main power control IC and starts up when VB voltage is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC].
1. Driving voltage (VB Voltage)
When the unit is in the battery driving
Voltage from the built-in battery is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC] of Power Control IC9001 via Q9001.
Q9001 turns “ON” in the battery driving only. Q9003 turns “OFF” in the battery driving because it is used for charging the battery.
When the unit is in the AC power adapter driving
The voltage (DCIN_5V) which is supplied from AC power adapter is supplied from VBUS line of a multiple type connector of the unit.
The DCIN_5V voltage is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC] of Power Control IC9001 via Q9005, D9002 and Q9002. When the unit starts-up and Main System
Controller IC6005 recognizes that the unit is in the AC power adapter driving, it outputs this information to PLD IC8001. Then PLD IC8001 sets the output of pin-76 [GPIO0] to
“L” with the serial communication. By this “L” signal, Q9011 and Q9013 turn “ON” and DCIN_5V voltage is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC] of Power Control IC9001
via D9001.
When the unit is connected to PC
When the unit is connected to PC, the VBUS voltage is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC] of Power Control IC9001 via Q9005, D9002 and Q9002.
When the unit is connected to an optional cradle
When the unit is connected to the cradle and the power voltage is supplied from the cradle to the unit, it is supplied to DCIN line of the multiple type connector of the unit.
Then, it is supplied to pin-87 [VCC] and pin-88 [VCC] of Power Control IC9001 via D9001.
2. Power Source Detection
Power Control IC9001 detects the power source with each input terminal shown in Table.2-1. And also, it outputs the power source information to PLD IC8001 and Main
System Control IC6005 with each output terminal shown in Table.2-2.
