– Revolution in reproducing the
expansion of surround sound!!
To achieve the best sound quality for the front surround system, there are three
more technologies.
The first technology is SONY original DSP technology.
To create the best virtual sound, the complex algorithm and capacity of DSP are
necessary.
S-FORCE PRO FRONT SYSTEM uses an advanced DSP which can support
such complex algorithm and more calculating capacity.
(2.4 or more times as much as DCS capacity)
By this DSP technology, more effective virtual surround sounds can be created.

DSP IC for S-Force PRO Front Surround is IC506 in HCD-X1.
Depends on the mode setting control signal input from System controller (IC801),
DSP(IC506) operates each data processing of “S-Force PRO Front Surround”
with S-RAM(IC507).
The operation clock for data processing is input from X601.
The sound effect is applied to the original multi channel sound and output from
IC506 SDO1-SDO3 terminals.

Processing
As the digital sound processing is done in IC506 and IC507, the failure of faulty
sound never happens basically.
If a failure happens in these ICs, the symptom will be “NO SOUND” or “Digital
noise output” basically.
So, if the customer claims any variation or strange feeling of the sound, please
check the speaker setting or the mode setting for the sound source firstly.
Most of problems are due to these setting problem basically.
The speaker and mode setting are explained in Chapter 4.
