SECTION  4
TEST  MODE
1.  TEST  MODES  OTHER  THAN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are executable test mode even if not entering the test menu.
1-1.  AM Step Change 
 
(Except IT1000: AEP, Russian, UK and Saudi Arabia 
models)
The step interval of AM channels can be toggled between 9 kHz 
and 10 kHz.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on. 
2.  Touch the [FUNCTION] sensor to select the “AM”.
3.  Touch the [
N
] and [FUNCTION] sensors simultaneously and 
hold down (around 5 seconds).
4.  The message “AM 9k STEP” or “AM 10k STEP” appears 
on the fluorescent indicator tube, and the AM channel step is 
changed.
1-2.  Disc Tray Lock
This mode let you lock the disc tray. When this mode is activated, 
the disc will not eject when the [
Z
] sensor is touched. The message 
“LOCKED” will be displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on. 
2.  Touch the [FUNCTION] sensor to select the “BD/DVD”.
3.  Touch the [
x
] and [
Z
] sensors simultaneously and hold down 
until “LOCKED” or “UNLOCKED” displayed on the fluores-
cent indicator tube (around 5 seconds).
1-3.  Color System Change 
 
(IS1000: Saudi Arabia, Singapore/IT1000: Austra-
lian, Saudi Arabia and Singapore models)
This mode let you change the color system of the video output 
from PAL to NTSC or vice versa.
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on. 
2.  Touch the [
x
] and [VOLUME +] sensors simultaneously and 
hold down (around 5 seconds).
3.  The color system is changed.
2.  TEST  MODES  IN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are the test modes done in the test menu.
Setting method of the test menu:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press three button in order of the [CLEAR] 
→ [3] → [0] → 
[1] 
→ [0] → [ANGLE] on the remote commander. (Make the 
interval when each button is pressed within two seconds)
3.  The message “TEST MENU” appears on the fluorescent indi-
cator tube and enter the test menu.
2-1. Panel Test
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2. Press the [
M
]/[
m
] buttons on the remote commander to select 
the “PANEL TEST”, and press the [3] button on the remote 
commander.
3.  LEDs and all segments in fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up. And half segments in fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up, others half segments in fl uorescent indicator tube are light-
ed up, then LEDs and all segments in fl uorescent indicator tube 
are lighted up. This operation is repeated.
4.  When all segments in fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted up 
in the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME +] button on the 
remote commander and model information is displayed on the 
fl uorescent indicator tube.
 
Each time the [VOLUME +] button on the remote commander 
is pressed, the display changes from destination information, 
MC version, SYS version, UI version, DVD version, ST ver-
sion, TA version, DSP version, TM version, CLA version, CEC 
version, SAIR version, HDMI version, DSP f version in this 
order, and returns to the model information display.
 
Each time the [VOLUME –] button on the remote commander 
is pressed, the version and date are switched.
5.  In the state of step 3, press the [FUNCTION] button on the 
remote commander and “K 0” is displayed on the fluorescent 
indicator tube.
 
“K 0” value increases whenever a button on the set is pressed 
or a sensor is touched. However, once a button has been 
pressed, it is no longed taken into account.
 
All buttons on the set are pressed and all sensors are touched, 
“OK” and “K 7” are alternately displayed on the fluorescent 
indicator tube.
6.  To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.
2-2. AMP Test
The cold reset clears data except BD/DVD data stored in the RAM 
to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the set to 
the customers.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2. Press the [
M
]/[
m
] buttons on the remote commander to select 
the “AMP TEST”, and press the [3] button on the remote 
commander.
3.  The message “MEASURE” appears on the fluorescent indica-
tor tube and enter the AMP test mode.
4.  Press the [SUBTITLE] button on the remote commander, 
the  fl uorescent indicator tube and thus the VACS on/off are 
changed.
5.   To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.
2-3. Cold Reset
The cold reset clears data except BD/DVD data stored in the RAM 
to initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the set to 
the customers.
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2. Press the [
M
]/[
m
] buttons on the remote commander to select 
the “COLD RESET”, and press the [3] button on the remote 
commander.
3.  The message “COLD RESET” appears on the fluorescent indi-
cator tube, then becomes standby states.
2-4. BD Service
This mode describes details in “3. BD SERVICE MODE” (page 
20).
2-5.  Tuner Factory Preset
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

] button if having entered this mode.
2-6.  Digital Media Port Test
Procedure:
1.  Connect the DMPORT check jig (Part No. J-2501-309-A) with 
the DMPORT jack (CN1101) on the AV01 board.
2.  Press the [
?/1
] button on turn the power on.
3. Confi rm that both LEDs of the DMPORT check jig lights.
 (Confi rmation the power supply line)
4.  Press the [FUNCTION] button on the remote commander to 
select the “DMPORT”.

5.  Enter the test menu.
6.  Press the [
M
]/[
m
] buttons on the remote commander to select 
the “DMPORT CHECK”, and press the [3] button on the re-
mote commander.
7.  The message “DMPORT OK.” appears on the fluorescent indi-
cator tube and enter the digital media port test mode.
 
(Confirmation of communication line)
 
When “NO DETECT.” and “UART .TO” are displayed on 
the fluorescent indicator tube, confirm the connection of the 
DMPORT check jig, and enter the mode again.
  Each time the [
>
] button on the remote commander is 
pressed, the connect check and adaptor version check are 
switched.
 
Press the [
.
] button on the remote commander, connected 
confi rmation of the DMPORT check jig is done again.
8.  To a pin-jack of the DMPORT check jig input information 
relevant to audio signal (sine-wave 1.0 Vrms) and composite 
video signal (white 100% 1.0 Vp-p, color bar, etc.),
9. Confi rm the output of speakers and monitor TV (Confi rmation 
of analog signal).
10. To release from this mode, press the [

Display the error log and command log. Displayed contents 
can also be saved in an USB memory device.

Performs unit test of devices installed on the board.
• Factory 
Initialize
 
Restores the set to its factory settings.
• Network
 
Checks the network connection.
1.  “Ifconfig” displays the network settings of the unit.
 
Executing this function will run the #Ifconfig command 
and display the result.
2.  “Ping” checks the communication status between the net-
work and terminal of the specified IP address.
 
Executing this function will run the #ping command and 
display the result.
•  Version Up (version update)
 
Performs version update using a disc. For details concerning 
updates, see the attached reference.
• System 
Information
 
Displays the system information of the set.
 
Displays information such as the software version, drive infor-
mation, etc.
