Repair Hints 

Enable Remote Operation 
Panel, in order to connect to 
the MFP using VNC?  

To enable the MFP to allow remote access/operation using VNC, select the 
following menu:-  
System Settings - Operation Settings.  
Change the Operational Authority for Remote Software Operation to "Allowed".  
If you wish to connect without accepting the remote connection from the MFP 
Operation Panel, enable Operation from Specified PC. Enter the IP Address of the 
Host PC into the "Operation from Specified PC" field.  

 
 

Changing The USB Port From 
Front To Rear 
 

Changing The Dip Switches On The MFP Allows You To Activate The Front Or 
Rear USB Ports 
SW1 Off (UP) & SW2 ON (Down) – Rear USB Port Only 
SW1 OFF (UP) & SW2 OFF (UP) – Front USB Port Only 

 
 

Is it possible to activate a trial 
mode for Sharp OSA? 

Sharp OSA trial mode that supports most functions can be 
enabled by executing Sim 26-74 
(restricted to approx 18000 pages, including 
print/scan/copy/image send) 
Note: Metadata & Open USB is not supported in Trial Mode.

 

 
 

Is it possible to extend the 
Retry Timer for FAX send? 

You can extend the FAX retry timer from the default 45 seconds to 60 seconds 
(maximum) by changing the T0 timer within the following soft switch control:- 
SIM 66-01: SW25, bit 1,2,3 
Default:001 (45 sec) - > 010 (60 sec : Max 60 sec) 

 
 

The external keyboard does 
not function (i.e.  no keyboard 
input) after installation 

For the external keyboard unit and both USB ports to function correctly, the 
USB Port DIP switch control on the MFP PWB must be set as follows:- 
SW1 = OFF,  SW2 = OFF  (Front USB Port) 

When using the external 
keyboard unit, the @ 
symbol/key is entered as “   
when using direct address 
entry (E-Mail address) 

After installing the MXKBX2 keyboard unit, ensure to configure the correct 
keyboard language. 
Enter [System Settings] – [Keyboard Select] menu and set the keyboard 
language to English (US)
