This manual is designed to detail all functionality improvements to Venta PRO POS software after
the  initial  release.  The  first  release  of  Venta  PRO  was  made  in  April  2004.  This  manual  details
extra components added after September 2004 with the launch of Venta PRO 2.2

The magnitude of changes made to this latest version has meant a version separation has had to
take  place  during  the  development.  As  a  result  of  this  the  new  Version  2.2.nnn  where  nnn
represents the build number is introduced from October 2004. Any upgrades that are undertaken
from  earlier  versions  will  be  dealt  with  during  the  upgrade  from  2.1  to  2.2.  NO  DATA  will  be
affected.

In order to make all installations of the Venta suite consistent the new versions of Venta PRO and
VPM  have  been  transferred  onto  the  InstallShield  this  will  now  be  the  delivery  method  of  all
Venta products.

It is now possible to upgrade all  components of  Venta PRO automatically.  This will normally be
done under the upgrades released from Sharp (UK) Ltd.

However if any new file that is placed in the \VAPP\UPDATES on the Master POS will upgrade the
master and all slaves associated with it.

With the introduction of the Sharp Venta Back Office a new interface is introduced to realise this
connection. This function will only be active when the Venta PRO software is registered with the
Back Office option set.

In  order  to  make  the  deployment  of  Handheld  ordering  devices  to  the  POS  a  generic  interface
has been introduced, to allow a Handheld Terminal to be easily interface to the POS. This feature
can also be enabled during registration by selecting the HHT Interface tab.
