1.  Introduction
The HomeBase is a device that is connected to the serial port of the PC. It takes care of
all the RF communication from and to the WaiterMate handheld terminal.
2.  Hooking up the HomeBase
The power supply used with the HomeBase is the standard power supply delivered with
the HomeBase. When the HomeBase is delivered with a RJ-connector inserted into the
RS-485 connector this is to prevent a wrong insertion of the serial  dongle-HomeBase
cable.
To hook up your HomeBase to your serial  dongle you only need to plug in the cable with
the RJ connector in the correct connector (RS-232) and plug the cable into the serial
dongle.
3.  Start-up of the HomeBase
Once you have inserted the cable into the RS-232 connector, the HomeBase will start-up.
When the HomeBase starts up, the LED near the power supply will follow a fixed
sequence; this sequence is defined per protocol.
The sequence followed is as follows:
Orange LED (Boot of HomeBase)
Blinking red LED (This indicates the protocol used)
1 time
= protocol A
2 times
= protocol B
3 times
= protocol D
A short pause (LED is out)
Blinking red LED (a repeat of the previous sequence)
Green LED (the HomeBase has finished starting up)
