The type of network used on the UP800 is a LAN.  (Local Area Network)

3. Select Scale
4. Select Channel number

Program one of the PLU or EAN codes to be Scale Compulsory.

Program a price against the PLU code.

Scanning

The UP-800 series has retail features such as Bar code scanning, Customer
accounts  and T log polling. These features will be covered in this section.

(The 800 series has 2 standard RS232 ports,  depending on the scanner used either of
these ports can be used for scanner connection, see hardware guide for details on the
RS232 channels)

(There is no other hardware requirements as the UP-800 series has the firmware built in
ready for scanning setup)

All the default settings will allow scanning to take place.

Scanning

The machines have 2 types of files for the EAN codes.
There is the standard PLU/EAN file this would allow the user to program the EAN
codes into the machine in the same way that PLU codes are programmed.

There is also the D-EAN this is the Dynamic EAN file.

This will allow an An EAN that has not been programmed into the machine to be
stored in a separate file to the main EANs. When it has been entered in the Reg
position.

The EAN/PLU sales file can be selected to be Cetralised or Indivivual this is
selectable at IRC set-up
