CHAPTER 3. MASTER RESET
1.  MASTER RESET (ALL MEMORY CLEAR)
[MRS1 key & MRS2 key]
Position of MRS1 & MRS2 key is as follows.
MRS1 key : The key located on left upper corner. (B key)
MRS2 key : The key located on right upper corner. (A and B key)
Key board layout
[Secret key operation]
This operation is used as password of MRS operation.
Following key sequence have to enter after operate reset switch.
If you operate wrong sequence then program reset is performed.
a : The key located on right upper corner.
b : The key located on left upper corner.
c : The key located on left lower corner.
d : The key located on right lower corner.

Key board layout
Master resetting 1 and 2 can be accomplished by using the following
procedures.
*Meaning of reset switch “ON” & “OFF” positions are as follows.
ON position : The position that CKDC becomes active state
(Normal status.)
OFF position: The position that CKDC becomes reset state
(Reset status)
There are two possible methods to perform a master reset.
• MRS-1
Procedure :
Clears the entire memory and resumes initial values.
1) Set the reset switch to OFF position and turn-on the machine.
2) Press and hold the MRS1 key and the reset switch move to ON
position.
3) And then, enter the secret key operation.
• MRS-2
Clears the entire memory and resumes initial values. (Master resetting
2 enables the layout of fixed keys in addition to master resetting 1.)
Procedure :
1) Set the reset switch to OFF position and turn-on the machine.
2) Press and hold the MRS2 key and the reset switch move to ON
position.
3) And then, enter the secret key operation.
Program the 0 to 9 keys, 00 key, 000 key, decimal point key, CL key, X
key, SBTL key, MODE key, cursor keys, HOME key, and CANCEL key
and ENTER key and TL key in this sequence.
(This means that the key first pressed is programmed as the 0 key, the
key pressed second as 1 key ---- and the last key pressed as the TL
key.)
To inhibit a particular key, press the 0 key at the point when that key
should be programmed.
2. PROGRAM RESETTING (INITIALIZATION)
Set the reset switch to OFF position and turn-on the machine.
And the reset switch move to ON position without any key pressing.
This resetting resumes the initial program without clearing memory.

DIAGNOSTICS SPECIFICATIONS
4 – 1
CHAPTER 4. DIAGNOSTICS SPECIFICATIONS
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This diagnostics program is used to check the operations of the
UP-800F/UP-810F in a simplified method in the PWB inspection, the
process inspection, and servicing.
The diagnostics for the PWB inspection, the diagnostics for process
inspection, and the diagnostics for servicing are basically executed with
the flash ROM installed in the machine as a standard provision. ROM
data are written into the flash ROM by using the UKOG-2384RCZZ.
2. SYSTEM COMPOSITION
3. DIAG
Starting the Diag Program
The Diag Program is written on the external ROM, which is executed
by the CPU (SH7760) and it runs on the following conditions:
1 The logic power supply is normal.
2 Both the I/O pins of the CPU and the CPU internal logic are
normal, and the sub microcomputer for UP-800F/810F and FPGA,
system bus, and standard ROM/SRAM/SDRAM are normal.
When booting the machine for the first time, Perform calibration of  the
touch key and the master reset.
When adding an option unit with the machine operating normally, per-
form the program reset.
(1) Master reset operation
1 Turn OFF the power.
2 Set the RESET switch to the RESET position.
3 Turn ON the power.
4 While pressing a certain key (Journal key), set the RESET switch to
the normal position.
5 Perform the calibration operation.
6 (To the SRV mode screen) Perform the master reset.
(2) Program reset (SERVICE reset) operation
1 Turn OFF the power.
2 Set the RESET switch to the RESET position.
3 Turn ON the power.
4 Without pressing T/P or any key, set the RESET switch to the
normal position.
5 Perform the calibration operation.
6 (To the SRV mode screen) Perform the program reset.
3-1. EXECUTING DIAG PROGRAM
To boot the diagnostics program, select Diagnostics on the menu selec-
tion in the SRV mode. For the UP-800 series the diagnostics can be
executed and terminated by touching the display on the menu screen.

3-2. RAM DIAGNOSITCS
Used to check the standard RAM and an expansion RAM.
(1) Standard RAM check
1 Checking
For the standard SRAM (UP-800 series: 2MB),
the following checks are performed. The memory contents remain
unchanged before and after the checks.
The following processes are performed for the memory address to
be checked (0400 0000H-043F FFFFH).
PASS1: Memory data save
PASS2: Data “0000H” write
PASS3: Data “0000H” read and compare, data “5555H” write
PASS4: Data “5555H” read and compare, data “AAAAH” write
PASS5: Data “AAAAH” read and compare
PASS6: Memory data restoration
In case of a compare error in comparison of the check sequence
PASS1-6, the error display is made.
If no error occurs until the end of the last address, it is regarded as
normal completion.
The following address check is performed furthermore.
In case of an error, the error display is made and read/write opera-
tions at the error address are repeated.
Check point address  = 0400 0000H 0400 0001H

The error address and the bit are displayed only when an error
occurs. (If no error occurs, they are not displayed.)
3 How to exit the program
After displaying the check result, press the PANEL key or any key
to terminate the operation.

For the standard SDRAM (8MB), the following checks are per-
formed. The memory contents remain unchanged before and after
the checks.
The following processes are performed for the memory address to
be checked (0C00 0000H-0C7F FFFFH).
In case of a compare error in comparison of the check sequence
PASS1-6, the error display is made.
If no error occurs until the end of the last address, it is regarded as
normal completion.
The following address check is performed furthermore.
In case of an error, the error display is made and read/write opera-
tions at the error address are repeated without continuing the
check.

After displaying the check result, press the PANEL key or any key
to terminate the operation.
(3) UP-S04MB2 Check
1 Checking
First of all, perform the presence check for the UP-S04MB2.
The memory contents remain unchanged before and after the
check.
i. 55AAH is written into 083F FFFEH.
ii. 083F FFFEH is read and compared with 55AAH. If the both data
are correct, go to iii. If not, “Extend RAM size : 0KB” is displayed
and the check is terminated.
iii. AA55H is written into 087F FFFEH.
iv. 087F FFFEH is read and compared with AA55H. If both data are
correct, 083FFFFEH is read. If it is 55AAH, the model is the UP-
S08MB and the following check is performed. If it is AA55H, the
model is the UP-S04MB2 and the following check is performed.
Then, the following process is performed for the address to be
checked (UP-04MB2: 0800 0000H-083F FFFFH, UP-08MB: 0800
0000H-087F FFFFH).
In case of a compare error in comparison of the check sequence
PASS1-6, the error display is made.
If no error occurs until the end of the last address, it is regarded as
normal completion.
The following address check is performed in the above check
sequence.
In case of an error, the error display is made and read/write opera-
tions at the error address are repeated without continuing the
check.
If there is no error at any check point, “Extended RAM size: 4096KB
PASS!!” (UP-S0408MN) or “Extended RAM size : 8192KB  PASS!!”
(UP-S08MB) is displayed and the check is terminated.
